Asking to see the burn card?

I recently discovered one of the casinos in MO allows you to see the burn card upon request. Is this a common practice in other casinos? I was playing at a 2 deck game when another player requested to see the burn card. Not sure if they allow this at their six deck but I'll ask next time. Although it's just one card every bit of information is helpful, but do you think it draws too much attention?

it happens all the time in atlantic city, NJ. if others at the table seem to be asking, you should fit right in. if i am sitting at first base, i usually like to say something like "i just want to make sure you didnt burn away my ace!"

One card is more important in double deck

Many casinos will not show the hole card. If this is their procedure the dealer will not show you because it can cause him some problems.

If they permit this on a double deck game then it would make sense to me that they would also permit it on a shoe.

It's more important to see the burn card in single and DD games. In AC some dealers will show it and others won't, but they will show it if you do ask them to. Also, in an 8D game, 1 card won't have that much of an effect on your PE opposed to the single. To answer your question...I wouldn't do it if a PB is standing right there.
