Even down to the buyin! This topic does make me curious though: how reasonable is it to try and find people on places like craigslist for things like this?
Very unreasonable. Even selling a car on Craigslist is a hassle and not worth it. When I want to sell a car, I put a sign in the window and park it down at Wal-Mart. I've probably sold more stuff at Wal-Mart than bought.

Maybe think of the casino as Wal-Mart and team up with counters you meet at the table. When you and another counter recognize you are playing together that means you are playing the same kind of game, with skills that you recognize as skills. You know you both have some kind of a bankroll, and you're not dealing with a casino spy or some screwball who is screwing with you online. Most counters are agreeable guys and enjoy talking trade with others they know are legit. A few times I've made ad hoc arrangements with people I just met that night. No bankroll sharing at that point of course, just info sharing which is just as valuable.

Yeah Monk I guess you could do it that way, I personally wouldn't, but I see your point. I think its all about what you are trying to accomplish. Very rarely do I ever find another counter or ap in a casino, and if I do they are usually not very competent. If they are I usually avoid them like the plague, I do not need to raise the odds of detection by association. When I put a team together, it is usually a well mapped out plan, logistically sound, where there is no confusion on whats expected or what the goals are. A spontaneous union does not suit me well as far as team play goes.

For my team, its either you are a reputable player already that either has mutual friends to vouch for you, or you are a player that must earn their way onto the team. Either way, even the best players need to qualify to play on my team, including myself, just to make sure of high quality play, and total trust in each others abilities. Even if a bankroll is not shared, without certain quality control measures, how am I to trust that a player is actually sharing correct information. Just running into someone by chance in a casino and observing a few shoes coincidentally is not enough for me. The fact that a player is that detectable alone raises doubts in my head. Sure, a good AP can see things most can't, but its still more risk then I choose to take. If I don't know you, or you don't know someone to vouch for you to me, you damn well better be a great player with some steel nerves, because I'm going to run you through the ringer to prove your worth. To me there is more about risk than just the actual play. Who and what you bring to the table determines the success of a team. You are only as strong as your weakest link.
