betting ramp in shoe games

If I decide to backcount a shoe game using HiLo and hop in at +2 true with a one unit bet, what does a betting ramp typically look like for this (as the true count changes)? Will it vary greatly on the rules? If so, let's say 8 decks, S17, DAS, dealer peeks. I'm not exactly sure if these are the games I'll be playing. I'll be playing in AC, but have no idea what the rules are like there and what casinos are the best (because I'm not yet 21). Does anyone have any insight as to what AC casinos are the best and what rules they offer?

Back on the subject of backcounting shoe games, at what point should I stand back up if the count gets too low?

Oh, and my bankroll is looking like 5K right now, if that's important.

I have more questions, but I'll save them for another post as to not clutter up one thread with questions on various topics.

Your bet ramp should depend on how you want to divide your bankroll. If you want to flat bet for camo, you should probably sit down at about +3, and you can divide your bank into maybe 100-120 units. If you want a large spread to lower risk of ruin, you could divide your bankroll into 400 units and spread 1-8. So, with $5k, you could sit down at +3 and flat bet $40-50, or you could spread $10-80.

If you're spreading, I would recommend you get your max bet down at a TC of +5. A ramp of (TC-1)*2 would make sense:
TC=1 Bet=0-1
TC=2 Bet=1-2
TC=3 Bet=4
TC=4 Bet=6
TC=5 Bet=8

See the tables in chapters 9 and 10 of (the invaluable, imho) Blackjack Attack. Don published tables with optimal ramps for the Hi Lo under a ton of different rule variations and under different wonging/backcounting scenarios. I would highly recommend that book, and not just to answer your question. I would give you the answer right now but i don't use hilo and dont have the book with me. thanks, rukus.

moo: When you say units, I assume you're talking about minimum bet. Is this correct?

Also, if your not 21 yet and you have some balls, you can gamble in ac, just act like youve been there before and buy in with more than 500 bucks and they seldom id you, unless your at the borgata then all bets are off on that one, i started my carreer prior to legally being able to gamble. You dont have to show them your id if they ask just say you left it in your car and youll go get it.:cool:

DO be advised that the penalties for gambling underage are pretty harsh and involve a loss of DL and a 500$+ fine i beleive
