Biased dice

I know the pass & come ,taking full odds is the best bet in the house . I also know that the horn bet is one of the worst bets ,yet I have this thing about betting it on the come out roll , throwing the stick man $5 and going high on the 12 (2,3,11,12) and parlaying the bet 3 time if it hits. I have been at a cold table & it worked 2 times in about 30 min. I was celebrating when other players would have liked to kicked my ass. I know that dice control is almost impossible ,but I always V the 3s having the 6 &2 facing me & try to soft throw every time at one spot on the back wall as low as I can get ,so the dice will bounce back as little as possible. If you feel good about a system , then go for it. POGO

Does the house have advantage by the place bets and odds not working on the come out? I often call for them to work . I often play the pass & take 3 come bets with full odds & place the 6&8. Am I doing wrong by having my bets working on the next come out roll after the pass line bet has been made.?

My take on this is as follows:

Your place bets and traveled come & odds bets have the same house edge on them during the comeout roll or during the point cycle. Therefore, the long-run odds are the same.

However, if you are a Pass Line bettor, you have the 7 working for you on the comout roll. This is a large, distinct advantage FOR you. Having place bets and odds bets working only diminishes that advantage since these are negative-expectation bets.

So I recommend not working them IF you have a Pass Line bet out there that can win on the 7. If you are not on the line during comeout, it's all up to you...but there really is no difference in the edge.

good luck...Hope that helps

Since the bets are always off except called working , I thought this may have been to the house advantage. What you say does make a lot of sense . Thanks, POGO

I play a lot of craps in AC & I saw one guy play the pass & don't pass on the come out at the same time. He laid full odds on the pass & no odds on the don't pass numbers. Have any of you guys played that way before? At the Trump Marina , they allow 5 times odds . Except for the bar 12 , is this a good play? One dealer questioned him and he laughed & said insurance baby. When the table was running cold ,he then reversed and started laying the odds on the don't pass & don't come numbers.

That's called the doey don't system. It's kinda like the average of pass line with odds and the don't pass with odds so from a house edge perspective it's a pretty good bet. If you don't mind having a random point the doey don't come/don't come bet is a lot better than any place or buy bet. Just be sure to watch your bets because this system can really confuse the dealers.

Keep in mind the amount of money you are putting into action even if it is at a lower house edge. Playing $10 on the pass and $10 on the don't costs about 28 cents per bet resolved ($10 once in 36 rolls). An $18 place bet on the 6 only costs you a little over 27cents per bet resolved and most folks ally won't have it working on the come out roll so your monetary losses per hour are less though your volatility is increased.

My take:

I don't think bias helps the casino unless its 7's.
If you suspect non-legal dice, have them spinner tested. Look for slow RPM wobble.

I don't like chipped or slivered dice...(they are razor edged and are known to sliver at the edges) and if I notice them, I stay away.
