What strategies are available and which do you think I should use for double deck?
I use "1st Win/3rd Loss" and count dealer busting (1 out of 4). But these two methods are just defensive ways of playing. I am looking for some thing more proactive if there is one.

It's a variation on the endless progression-based systems that dictate that "dealer bust rates" and the outcome of previous hands have an effect on future outcomes. Assuming that you play perfect basic strategy, you still have the same expectation of a BS player that doesn't use a system (typically about -0.5%), but your fluctuations will be wider.

Mr. Chen, if you'd like something proactive, as you say, start with the stickies in the "General" forum and work on from there. Good luck!

"1Win 3rd Loss" is from a book by David S. Popik, Citadel Press 1985. You raise your bet after three consecutive loss and after first win.
I am sure "2Win 4th Loss" will be equally effective, both making you a loser over the long run.

The reason d'etre for this website is the sharing of knowledge and experience —
in order to become "Advantage Players" or, at the least, wise recreational gamblers.

Any notion re: altering one's wagers based upon something that correlate at a virtual ZERO with
winning / losing an upcoming wager is beyond foolish, and should not be dignified with an explanation.

You'd do just as well flipping a coin, consulting your horoscope, or partnering with a chiropractor.
Indeed, I guarantee that you'd do better (in the long run) by staying home.

It looks like this thread has found it's way into the Voodoo Forum. It's a shame, especially since I agree with the OP's main point.
