I assume the most common rule of resplitting to make up to 4 hands. However, as far as I know it doesn't matter. I am unaware of any decisions that are different when no resplitting is allowed.
For the other surrender decisions you mention I need to double check before answering.
Thanks Ken - I only meant the re-splitting stuff from the point of EV, not BS, slight as it may be.

For some reason I had it in my brain you probably were assuming only splitting to 2 hands so it's nice to know my assumption wasn't correct EV-wise. Thanks.

I know it would be a super pain-in-the neck to add a number of re-splits in the basic engine just for that, since it would not change BS, only HA, but what do you think about explicitly adding somewhere that your BS engine always assumes re-splits to 4 hands in its HA calc?

I'm not sure what I said the other nite, and tomorrow nite I won't know what I said tonite lol, but, at least vs dealer Ace, you do early surender all 5 & 6 totals in H17 or S17 for decks 1-8. I may have included dealer 10, not sure.

My main question is the 8 vs dealer Ace in H17 single-deck.

I don't care for me, I care for you lol.

many of the books do not carry early surrender tables. Us books tend to be us-centric. Using define/edit tables, you can create a user strategy based on one of the included strategies and make the desired changes.
thank you!

I am using casino verite and have put early surrender, 1Deck in the rules. If I look at the basic strategy chart at blackjackinfo it says to surrender 12-16 vs Ace and 14-16 vs 10. However, at casino verite the basic strategy chart says I should only surrender the 15,16. Any help to clear up this discrepancy?

Thank you very much in advance.

I'll give that a definite maybe. ;) I have a few ideas for the Engine that have yet to be implemented, and some of those plans included options that only affect House Edge, not the strategy.

I'm not sure what I said the other nite, and tomorrow nite I won't know what I said tonite lol, but, at least vs dealer Ace, you do early surender all 5 & 6 totals in H17 or S17 for decks 1-8. I may have included dealer 10, not sure.
Yes, I just confirmed those. In addition, you should early surrender (2,2) in single deck S17, and any number of decks H17.

My main question is the 8 vs dealer Ace in H17 single-deck.
Yes, surrender hard 8 vs Ace in 1 and 2-deck H17.

These updates to the Strategy Engine are coming soon. I've talked before about how the early surrender options were added, and I relied on strategies provided by others. My original analysis software didn't look at early surrender, and I have foolishly lost some of the source code making enhancements impossible.

Fortunately, I have on hand excellent software from another member here (who can claim credit if he or she wants). I'll be using it to correct any remaining problems with the early surrender strategies.

The Strategy Engine has been updated with these changes. I checked every rule combination of number of decks, H17/S17, and DAS. To my knowledge, the early surrender charts are completely accurate at this point. I've never seen a reliable source for these strategies published. Now we have one.

Here's my post about the update:
