The stabbing took place after an argument between Arthur Prince, 61, or Toms River NJ, and Vicente Perez, 57, of Macon, Georgia.

The argument began when Prince was busted during a hand of a $1/2 no-limit game at the casino. He made a request to have his seat held while he went to get some more cash. The players at the table heard the request, but the dealer did not, and the dealer gave the seat to Perez while Prince was away.

When Prince returned, an argument ensued, and the table voted to have Perez stay in the seat. Another player offered Prince a seat at the table, but Prince apparently refused. When Perez left the table later, Prince followed him outside, and the altercation ocurred.

I get half shoed in Borg. everytime, but I can still play in Trop and Harras (misspelled on purpose). Never tried other stores. So not sure how info is shared among AC stores. It makes sense that the stores accept Total Rewards card will share AP info between them, as well as between Trump's own stores. But that's just my guess. Anyone care to share your experience about that?

This was between casinos with different owners, so there's definitely some communication between them, at times.

Borg is the place I've had most trouble, too, but none for over a year now, as I've been playing anon and avoiding "familiar" faces in the pit. Are you still using a card or they are just doing it by recognizing you? For me, I don't see too many of the PCs I need to avoid from a few years ago, any more. I don't know if they're gone or just supervising other games.

Lately, I've been playing anon at more places. It's great to go in with a "I don't give a s... if they half-shoe or reshuffle me as I'll just be back next week" attitude. Playing without regard to heat is much more relaxing. Funny thing is playing anon, I've had no problems with the pit.

This is all very realistic. However, they botch things up a bit too. As in, dossiers. I was once "86'd" from a casino and obviously, it wasn't in NJ. It was an HET/Total Rewards casino. I was told not to come back to "that property". I have since chose not to. However, I still receive comp room and comp chip offers from them and get this--I HAVE SINCE BEEN ASSIGNED A HOST AT THE PROPERTY via snail mail!!!

Don't expect to be backroomed in Canada either. Some places have better games than others, but if you're counting generally expect the bad rules and shallow pen to keep you from making more than your travel expenses unless you've got a healthy sized bankroll and are strict about wonging or use a big spread. Nevada has the best games, that's why folks play there even if they may get politely asked to leave a casino on occassion.

Well, the actual "back rooms" do exist in AC. I was in one. There is a seemingly endless hallway with many rooms that are mostly marked but many are "unmarked". LOL--One was a State Trooper's office. I was accompanying a lady friend back there who was pick-pocketed for three digits in that casino. She wanted to report it.

I grew up in these towns where the Sopranos takes place and I'm a CC'r. And I'm telling you to forgettaboutit! Tell your friend to turn off the Sopranos re-runs. Our former governer (I think his last name was Burns but I'm not sure.) made a world famous (At the time, it was covered by news media all over the world.) statement at a press conference for the opening of casinos in NJ. He said something to the effect that, "The God Damb mafia better keep their dirty hands away from Atlantic City!" He screamed it into the microphone. I wish we had politicians like that today but I digress. There are no mafiosos (as we you used to refer to them when I was on the street as a kid) involved with running any casino in AC.

Furthermore, thanks to the successful series of lawsuits begun by Ken Uston and continued by Tommy Hyland, no personnel ARE EVEN ALLOWED TO TELL YOU TO GET UP FROM THE TABLE FOR COUNTING CARDS IN AC!

Any idea where I can find the case laws, prescedents, and verdicts for these cases? I've got an avid interest in gambling law. Also while there may be no organized crime running a casino, there is plenty of it in and around casinos. Casinos are still a great way to wash money, change counterfeit currency, and there are plenty of addicts looking for high interest, short term loans to try and 'win' their money back.

When I use a card, they half shoe or reshuffle me. I can still get by playing without a card. I got room comped and I withdrew credit from my credit line. So from time to time, I use my card to play. The funny thing is that I won almost 1.5k when I used my card. The first 2 and half decks of the shoe the TC went from 0 to 3 and -1. My bet was 1 to 3 blacks, average of 2. I stopped right before the cutting card came out. I think I pissed the pit a little.

Marketing and gaming often don't communicate with each other.

I received weekly room offers (and often used them) from the Borg for 13 months after they ID'd me, and I hadn't used the card to play ever again. Funniest thing, when I checked in there, in the upper right-hand corner of the screen at the check-in counter computer, it said, in red, "confirmed skilled player." The offers finally stopped after my Black Card expired.
