Hand Interaction

Mr Renzy,
I am a big fan of your hand interactions, and try to play at near full tables as a comp counter. With that said,I don't come across the opportunity to interact three hands an hour very often. In fact, the few times it is that common is when I become the defacto mentor to a table full of newbies.
Something I will only do if the majority of the table are Service guys playing for the first time.
Is it your experiance that you encounter three or more such hands an hour on a regular basis?
Shad, I usually play at rather uncrowded tables, generally about three-handed. So no, I don't come near three interaction plays per hour. But at a six or seven handed table, somebody else will have either 8 vs. 6, or 9 vs. 2, or 9 vs. 3, or 9 vs. 7, or 10 vs. 9, or 11 vs. 10, or 11 vs. A, or A/7 vs. 2-6, or A/8 vs. 3-6 about once every six rounds -- or ten times per hour.

You can try to induce them to double with all these by offering to go partners if this is to be a big part of your game. At one of my local houses, there is a likeable man who just sits at the table in high limit, merely kabitzes with the players about baseball, the pitlady's physical attributes, tells jokes, etc., and offers to go halves on other players' doubles and good splits. He almost never is dealt a hand of his own.

Wow. Does this guy only go halves on hands that give him an advantage?
He goes partners on any hand that he perceives has an edge. I did sell him half of my 7/7 vs. 2 however. It appears he just goes by basic strategy. Nevertheless, I'd say he plays with an EV of about +6.0%. Gets in probably five plays per hour -- mostly doubles.

You know how it is - the non-idiots (basic strategy players) think you're playing like an idiot while the real idiots (non basic strategy players) really really want to kill you :)
As one of those non-AP non-idiots (I hope), this place taught me to NEVER assume an erratic and/or non BS player was an idiot. I used to. Well ....... almost never. Just wish I could ID any REAL AP's to follow their lead.

As another hopeful non-AP non-idiot, I don't see many counters at low-limit AC tables. Understandably so lol. Seen some at higher limit tables. Not usually that hard to spot.

One time I hit like a 13 vs 2 in a high neg count and then took a break. Apparently, not knowing my wife was at the table, this guy was like threatening to beat me up in the parking lot because I messed his hand up.
Like I care - if I don't clear out a few people every trip I'm disappointed.

But sometimes, like when I was dying to hit my $10 12 vs 4 at third base and my wife knew it, and this guy over there had like $400 out after splitting and doubling, I just played it straight because my wife was going to kill me if I got "cute" as she likes to call it. I would have busted but instead the dealer did and the guy throws me $25.

The best was once when I was going to wong in and this guy says "please don't play - I'm on a streak". The usual crap but I usually ignore it and play anyway. But this time, for some reason, I just sat down. He won like the next 5 hands in a row and gave me $25 every hand for not playing. Now that's wonging :)

If you can get people to pay you not to play or pay you to play their way, then you are an AP, at least at that moment.
