If you are going to rat hole you only need to do so your EV or slightly more to make your long term results go from winning to losing. :

The pit likes to see you lose around 1.5% to 2% of your total action. If your long term EV is +0.75%, then you need to rathole around 2.5% of your action to make your player's card look right.

That means if you spread say, 25-to-250 with an average bet size of $50, at 90 hands per hour you need to rathole around $125 per hour, even though your EV may be $35/hr. An average player with that kind of action should lose about $85 per hour.

When leaving a table, before presenting your chips for coloring up, ALWAYS pocket a few chips of the denomination just BELOW the largest you are playing. Win or lose. Don't do this surreptitiously, but try to do it before the PC's attention is drawn to the table. .

I have known players who buy-in with enough to get black, red, and green, then immediately rathole some green at the very start of the session or on their first toilet break.

I also agree that you would probable just have to hide your EV and if cought it could look bad. The last two times I went to this casino I got really good runs so I felt like I needed to hide some of it. What I did do was every now and then was color up a small amount +-200 then the dealer sees it as cheap change and does not even tell the pitboss then I just egerly put it in my pocket like any other gambler.

I'm contemplating, in a casino known for the ultimatum you were presented with by the dealer, which is the preferred technique:

a.) To take your whole stack with you, and only when presented with the ultimatum, leave the Red only.

b.) Upon getting up from the table, automatically leave the Red only.
