I came back from a trip where every single place that I went to, they wanted to check ID. Not a single place would let me in until I went through a security check point where they took my ID and scanned it into the computer. I don't think it's possible to play anonymous at these places. Does anyone know of a way? Answer in PM if necessary.

Easy. Give your ID to the security guard when you enter the casino, then don't give it to the pit boss to be rated when you go to the blackjack tables. You are now playing unrated. It is not the guard's job to rate you for comps.

Or, alternatively, you could grow older :laugh:

I was playing at an MGM property in LV when a young man sat down with a hoodie pulled up and wearing sunglasses. When he said he didn't have a players card in response to the PB's request, he was told he had to show an ID to verify his age. I wondered at the time what would have happened if he didn't have the hoody and sunglasses? Some places now require everyone ordering an alcohol beverage to show an ID. Is there is a legal case to be made against a casino having a policy of requiring anyone playing a game to prove they are old enough? Otherwise could there be any legal reason a casino couldn't simply say "we don't allow anyone to play anonymously?"

And Diver, of course a casino can check the ID of someone who wants to play a game to make sure they are old enough.

It's illegal to show a fake ID to the police and to gamble underage. It's not illegal to show a fake ID to a pit boss when you're over 21.

In Vegas I think it is. I am not sure but I read that somewhere. I can't remember the source for proper assessment of credibility.

I'm not a lawyer but I'm pretty sure if the ID in which you are showing is being portrayed as 'government issued' then you could get in trouble. If it was a library card with a fake name I think it is entirely different as opposed to something you try to play-off as government issued. I could be wrong though, hence the 1st sentence of not being a lawyer. Also, if you intend to use it in a fraudulent/exploitative or miss-leading way, than you're probably approaching illegal actions.

If they scan you at the door, pit can get your information easily. But there are ways to avoid id scan at the door without any hassle- if you are big player..

There is a store that is local to me that has signs on their tables indicating that, "cheques are not to be exchanged with unknown guests."

In practice this doesn't mean that you are forced to play rated, but you are forced to show the PB your ID before playing. You will then be referred to by your first name by both the pit and the dealer.

That is ambiguous. How do they enforce it? You can't by chips from another player. You can only buy chips if they "know" you. I assume from your second paragraph it is the latter.
