Doubling after Splitting Aces

If I am allowed to double on one or both of my Aces after they each recieve one card after a split, how much advantage does that add to my side?

Also, would I just use BS to decide whether or not to double depending on the hand total I have and the dealers upcard?

Turtle Creek Casino in Traverse City, MI.

"If you split a pair of aces, you will receive only one card on each of the hands. However, you may "double down" and receive 1 more card on each ace."

play it like you have two 11 hands I would assume. Same advantage you always have on an 11. 6 to 5 odds against a ten, Double against ace at +1 TC.

wow

every casino i have ever been to does not allow that. you can double down on the two aces (two or twelve) or you can split and get one card each.
the end!

I've seen it in Central America.I'd think it has to be a very big advantage. But the other rules for the game might negate it.

hmmm

if you double on

A2 VS 5.6
A3 VS 5.6
A4 VS 4.5.6
A5 VS 4.5.6
A6 VS 3.4.5.6
A7 VS 2-6 D/S

oh A8 VS 6 on a H17 table you may want to double or stand..

Depends what your count is.

Thats not his question. In this casino, when you split Aces, you can DD on them, then draw a card. Not draw a card and then double down.

Sure you would play it just like a hard 11. I've seen this rule in a couple of places in Northern Michigan and it's a good one. But it's not spectacular, after all you are only getting a pair of aces 1 out of 191 hands in a DD game.

I am not sure. I think he means that he can double down after he has already gotten a card and has a soft hand. not that he can double down on an ace.
Thats how I understand it atleast.

Yes, that's what he means. They each get one card, but if he wants to, he can double and get another card.

From his original post:
after they each recieve one card after a split,

Laughlin had some places that would allow doubling after splitting aces 4x.
(what are the chances of being able to split 4x in a one deck game? lol it might as well be 5x)
thats probably gone by now.
I will scope it out in January and come back with a trip report.

You got it wrong guys!

No, No!
1.You have a pair of Aces,
2. You split them
3. You immediately double down before receiving any cards.

You only get 1 card on the aces regardless of weather you split them or not. Seems like a great rule but as someone else pointed out it only happens every 191 hands or so. I do believe I could have also done this with 10s as well, but I did not. In retrospect, it may have been a good bet, given the ability to in effect quadruple the original bet.

DD on split Aces is a no brainer. Splitting tens to DD takes a lot of thought.
With the Aces you have a total of 2 or 12,with tens you have a total of 20.

I dont recall doubling on a single ace.
the rule as i remember it... is split aces first, take your second card on the first split ace, then decide if its worth the double. ( or if another ace, another split.)

but then some days

its all i can do to get up off the picnic table

This rule will add about 0.1% with the proper strategy. You can increase that slightly if you can double for less on certain hands.

I generally never consider doubling for less. When is it advantageous to do this?

Thank you

I always double my 16 v 10s for less when the count is negative. Good cover or at least good laughs. I never double for more than a dollar and I don't ALWAYS do it.
