I've only been playing at the Taj Mahal for 2 months but have already received 7 days of comp rooms. I usually bet $10 or $15 min games with 10X spread and play the slots as well. From Taj you can jitney or drive to the other casinos. Until you get a premium card, the parking is $5. Rooms are nice. I suppose there is a jitney to the Borgata, but I haven't seen one. Does anyone know? And where do you get it? Maybe it's the same jitney that runs along the beach casinos (Atlantic Ave?).

I stayed at Showboat last month for the first (and last) time. I thought it was kinda dumpy. Old, dark drapes and bedspreads in the rooms, no Internet access, etc. Needs renovation.

Also, Harrahs runs its own shuttle between their four properties. It's free with any Total Rewards card except the Gold, and also free for a guest of any of their hotels.

I'm building up comp points to stay at Borgata. The casino is really on the scale (quality-wise) of the top Vegas casinos. If you really like nice surroundings and amenities, it may be the place to stay in AC. I haven't seen a room yet, so I don't know if they live up to the quality of the casino itself.

A downside is that you almost need to have a car to get around (unless you don't mind jitney traveling), whereas there are nice clusters of casinos along the boardwalk.

It's run in part by the same people (Boyd) who gave us the now defunct and demolished Stardust (known for Sinatra among others). They also own The Orleans, Sun Coast, Gold Coast, and Sam's Town in Vegas. I had a friend now deceased who worked for them for many years. He said they were a great organization to work for.
