Good Rates at Monte Carlo??

Sounds like they lost a few floors of available rooms, so the drop in capacity probably negates it.

And the whole place will probably smell like a barbecue for awhile.

good rates at Monte Carlo

Us blackjack players can always get good rates.

1) Ring the MC and ask to speak to a casino host.

2) Convince the casino host that on average you'll bet around $50 per hand for a 4 hr period each day of your stay (or $25 per hand for 6-8 hours).

3) Tell them that you're aware of the recent fire but wanted to show your support for the property by coming to stay and play.

4) At least, you should get your room at CASINO RATE (much cheaper than the lowest published public rate). At best, if you actually reach the bet limits in 2 above, you could get free room, food and beverage for your stay!

I found the following book, comp city, really useful for this sort of information (see my blog entry below for details).

Good luck!

Hi, who or what is Rob McGarvey?

Perhaps I'm a bit slow here (or just a newcomer)... but was this some sort of tongue-in-cheek comment, or just a bit of fun?

I'm still stuck...

I'm still stuck... who is Rob Mc Garvey?

Now, Bill Clinton I've heard of, George Bush I've heard of.

Is this Rob McGarvey another idiot?

He used to be a regular contributor to several blackjack websites. Here is a link to his book:

Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago:

Thanks for the clarification sonny. Not at least I understand who i'm being compared to. I'll do some research and work out later whether I should be taking the comments from others as a compliment or an insult. I suspect they probably intended them as the latter...
