That makes perfect sense and that's exactly what doesn't work in large organizations. At a company like HET you have dozens and dozens of executives all in competition with one another, and the goal is to sell ideas to protect your job, make yourself look good and make your competitors (fellow executives, NOT other casinos) look bad in comparison.

So a business plan doesn't really have to work, it just has to make you look good in a meeting and if it doesn't work, you can fix that later. Blame someone else. That's why they'll shut down BJ tables and let dealers dance for 8 hours at empty Let It Ride and Caribbean Stud tables- someone was shown a spreadsheet where these games are more profitable, the order came down and that's the way it's going to be.

I just got back from staying on the strip in LV this past weekend. Last time I was there was fall of last year and I was told they start knocking off nights from your bill if you play over $25 a hand for over 4 hours. I played around 3 hours at $25 and they didnt take anything off, but I got a decent offer for this trip, $49 a night at Luxor and $49 to upgrade to suite so that was nice.

This trip I played $65-75 a hand for 5 hours and was expecting something, but when I stopped by the players club on the way out they said they like to see $100 a hand for at least 6-8 hours a day for a free room. I was a little shocked 'cause thats like a full time job lol. They took off one room upgrade and a breakfast buffet but thats all. Fortunately on the trip I was up quite a bit (from BJ and some slot play). It may be because of the slowdown on the strip they are more strict on the comps

On another note, my friends wanted to see fremont street so we took a taxi to the 4 Queens. They didnt have a lot of cash and wanted to learn BJ so I asked a PB to lower the limit on a $10 table for them and he did. I was playing green and they were playing red for about 30 min. When we were leaving I asked what it takes to get rated for comps there and he said playing green he'd take real good care of me and if I stayed for a few hours I'd have RFB. I know they are looser with the comps downtown, but it seems like that was excessive lol. Maybe the downtown casinos are trying to weather the downturn with better comps

It just gets on my nerves that a guy that never goes can get a week free comp room and even cash coupons in the mail and all I get is garbage.

I'm not all that great at video poker so I'll just stick with Blackjack.

I feel I am rather decent. Although it kicked my ass the other night... Huge stretches of 18s 19s and 20s and dealer beats by one almost everytime. Next thing I know I'm 600 down

Anyway.

I guess the only thing positive I can get comp rooms in Vegas about anytime.

Harrah's already has you by the short and curly's, why give you anything? It's obvious that you will come back anyway. Now your friend, they're still working on him.

Yeah, but the downside to that is that you have to stay downtown. :laugh:
