Hi/Lo or KO ?

Im very new to card counting, recently started "studying" hi/lo. But some research made me think about going with KO intsead. Im just wondering what you veterans think? Its not like Im mastering hi/lo and wasting alot of time by switching. And ive heard KO would be as effective as hi/lo but easier to learn. On the other hand it doesnt matter how hard it will be, i will never give this up ;) but still, if its easier to learn it will be easier to master. Would be great to hear your appinions on the different systems. And maybe a little comparation:)

Another question out of quriousity.. Since I havent found anything about it, Is there any system where the BS changes according to the RC/TC?

Thanks!

I used the Hi-Lo for years and switched to KO very easily. I think it's just as powerful as Hi-Lo and much easier to implement. Because it's an "unbalanced" system there is no "true count conversions" unlike the Hi-Lo. For double deck games I would suggest learning more indices (KO Preferred) but for shoe games check out reKO (really easy KO). For shoe games using reKO, all you really need to know is basic stratgey and about 20 plays that deviate from basic strategy. reKo is just as powerful in shoe games and very close to strength in double deck games. There are threads on this board if you do a search and you can also check out this link from QFIT:

hi/lo is a bit convoluted to practice but understanding hi/lo is helpful when it comes to understanding the big picture regarding blackjack advantage play.
ko is easier in practice but a bit convoluted with respect to understanding how it fits in the big picture regarding blackjack advantage play.
they both have about the same power in practice. just be careful not to confuse the attributes of the two systems as you learn about them.
basic strategy departures are made according to TC for the hi/lo count.
basic strategy departures are made according to the RC for the ko count.

The book is called Knock-out Blackjack by Fuchs and Vancura. It is the only book on KO. I don't know if there is a European version of amazon.com, or something similar, but you can find it there.

Regarding KO vs. HiLo:
I started with KO and have been very pleased with it. As I gained experience, I added to it and now true count it for additional edge.

I recently started using HiLo for Spanish 21. I thought it would be confusing switching back and forth, but it hasn't been a problem. I've also thought about switching to HiLo for BJ since I'm now using it for Sp21, but really see no need to make any changes at this time.
