2x session EV at my home joint is approaching what I consider to be their heat/pain threshold, and there are only so many times you can hit a certain choke point before people start to wonder what the hell is going on.

Having a hard time wrapping my mind around this one. If this place chokes at 2x your EV then either you're pressing your luck every time you play as a 2x EV win is very common, or their limits are so low that you're basically spreading min to max.
