I hate it when a ploppie ...

I usually ignore them, but the other day a woman to my right would not hit her stiffs and if I busted with a stiff, and then the dealer busted, she would say "See" and look at me smugly .... like she was Psychic and I was stupid or something. I was at third base so you couldn't even immediately see the result if we had both hit.

Anyone have other favorite annoying ploppie stories?

Before you play your hand, ask her if you should hit or stand. Play basic strategy no matter what she says to do.

I wrote this somewhere else, but the ploppy this weekend who kept insisting that the dealers down card is not always a face card. Then he would point it out everytime it wasn't like he was a genius. He felt like he was a psychic when it wouldn't be a face card, I didn't have the heart or patience to try and explain 4/13 to him. He mentioned more than once how it's a non-face card more often than it is a face-card and some people at the table were really getting into what he was saying. I wonder if these people ever even played go fish as a kid, aren't some of the stats pretty elementary?

LOL. He was only wrong about 30% of the time. Not a bad bet.

Stupid thing often heard at the table:
"assume the dealer always has a ten in the hole"

worse:
"the dealer's 2 is the dealer's ace"

an astute BJINFO member was rumored to have heard this utterance at a table and promptly asked the dealer for insurance. i plan to follow their stoic lead at first chance!

heck, i've even started asking for even money on my 16's v dealer A.... it hasn't worked yet, but someday!

Another encounter from hell!!

Today......

I was backcounting 2 Tables at the same time, the first one had 2 ploppies and the second had 3 players suddenly i notice something odd in this table(a change in the size of the bets from the last player when the count changed, the only problem was he changed it a little wrong"underbetting in plus count to only 4 max units" playing the whole shoe in a 6shoe game), he was giving advice to other 2 players in the open, moving his lips with the cards and never once left his gaze from them(first i thought he was with them , later i realized that they didn't even knew each other).

Well getting to the point, in the first table the Running count rised to +28 with 2.5 decks remaining in shoe. i jumped in and open 2 spots with my max bet, when one of the ploppies in the table got angry and said "you are disturbing the sacred flow of the cards!!!!" this one was a male homosexual, he got up of his seat and start cursing and talking to the other 2 players in the table (2 old ladies), they too were yelling and looking at me like i was some sort of disgusting creature.:(
I acted like i didnt care and putted my two big bets. the dealer deals and everyone gets a 20 except me with a crappy H14 and H12 vs a dealer 8.
I hit my first hand =bust, i hit my second hand =bust. :(
The dealer makes a 3 card 21 and everyone looses, the riot is about to begin
One of the ladies started praying "please god dont let me hate this man!"
and the second one was still stunned(she said within a few seconds, not even me the anchor could had save us!).
The gay guy was belligerent and said "i will hit whatever hand i have vs a 5 or 6 showing dealer card to see you PAY!", the ladies like that comment so much they said " thats a good revenge!!!"
The next hand the running count is +14.
I still make my max bet in 2 spots, when i see they had opened all the spots in the table! the male homosexual was shouting"to much hitting on your hands, if you get a good hand i will destroy it with my other hands, mark my words you will loose"
i glanced at the pit, nice still no attention to the table.
I say to myself "what da hell continue, you cannot leave in a positive count no matter what!"
the dealer deals( he was quiet and nervous) and i get a beatiful H16 and a H12 vs a dealer 7
One lady gets a 20, the male guy gets a (2)20 and 21, the last lady gets a natural too.
So i surrender my H16 and hit my 12, get a 2, hit again another 2 and last hit i get an ACE.
before i "stand", (in the meantime of my hitting)the ploppies were like see this guy is the worst, he asks for to many cards. The male homosexual says to the pit boss "i dont want this guy in my table!", one of the ladies says to me "please dont take anymore cards, just stand!". The pit boss comes a peeks at my play.
Damn to much attention!, the situation is getting worse.
Next the pit boss says to me"you can play where and whenever you want, you are welcome at our high stakes tables if you like!".
The dealer makes a 4 card 21 for the last hand of the shoe.
The ploppies were screaming for help.(the pit boss was laughing)
I got up and left the casino. All my big bets were going down the drain, the ploppies getting all my cards.:flame:
The ploppies won the battle today, they had a good strategy(unity):flame:
i read from EASY RHINO(i think or sonny) "the bigger the ploppy the better the chance he gets the good cards"

THE QUESTION IS WHAT TO DO IN THIS SITUATION?(the middle shoe entry and riot)
PS: these types of ploppies i have encountered are the worst, they yell whenever they can! because of the sacred flow of cards.(the other tables were all full)
When seeing a counter, do you enter his table too?(he had no camo)

I'm confused. Did the "male homosexual" have a name tag that said: "HI, my name is Rex and I'm Gay!". Otherwise how did you tell?

My gay nephew says he can always tell because gays have "Gaydar".

Other than that I agree with Shad.

Were we all not cut from the same cloth ? Ploppies is your starting point. Some grow up to be AP. You have to start somewhere. I am sure everyone of you had started as Ploppies ! So give them a break !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most gays can recongize their own so it would not be hard for him to pick him out from a crowd.

I kind of like ploppies

they help keep the play and banter a little loose. And of course, I always welcome the sage advice about how to play certain hands and promise to do my best to remember, even though I'm entirely capable of making the same mistake over and over while I'm trying to get it to sink in.

Dante, I hope you treated the noob counter as toxic, and avoided his tables.

But more importantly, why did you surrender a 16v7?!

agree with diver here. ploppies 1. make the tables fun (if there are only 1-2 of them at the table with you) and 2. they are the ones who replenish casino coffers, so treat them accordingly.

In the confusion, i made a bad play.
i was trying to be calm but the others players at the table were all over me.

Yes i avoided his table(no camo). For a time he was winning then he hit a bad flux so he left.

thank you all for your posts. Sometimes are discouraging these situations in the table.

with all due respect, that is a horrible excuse, especially with max bets out on two spots. you are not ready to be insulting any ploppy because many here will call you a ploppy AP.

I must agree with you. i didn't insult anyone, the post is because i want to know how to deal with the situation(i told the facts).
How do you handle this type of things?(the yelling and complaining about hitting your hand)

Thank you for your feedback.

Ooh, that's bad. The play cost you a substantial amount of EV on a large bet, when all you had to do was tell the other players to blow it out their ass.

About the only play I won't do if I'm worried it will cause a riot is split tens. But that's a play that's wrong most of the time, and has other baggage with it. Hitting 16v7 is always right.

Today was a topper, walked up to a table, one open box, played 1 shoe. The entire table stood everytime the dealer had a 2. Rumor had it that the Dealers 2 was wild today. F@@@IN Morons. Dealer pulled 21 every time....
Should have known from that shoe that a black cloud was hanging over me all day... BAD BAD BAD DAY

A true AP will not play at a full table since it is suicide in the long run, DIG:(

Hell it is suicide in any run!

If you sit at a full table it should be for only these reasons, play to clear the table off, play for the fun... social aspect of it, play for low stakes practice. Under these conditions don't complain about ploppy play, just let them entertain you.

In serious play never play with more than yourself and 2 other players.

far better with 1 other player or heads up.

Don't be your own worst enemy.
