A true AP will not play at a full table since it is suicide in the long run, DIG:(

Hell it is suicide in any run!

If you sit at a full table it should be for only these reasons, play to clear the table off, play for the fun... social aspect of it, play for low stakes practice. Under these conditions don't complain about ploppy play, just let them entertain you.

In serious play never play with more than yourself and 2 other players.

far better with 1 other player or heads up.

Don't be your own worst enemy.

Points all well taken! AND PRINTED IN LARGE LETTERS !!!

Unless I'm in the high limit at $50min, you can never get 1-2 players even at 4AM on the $15-25 tables! On rare occassions you can get a shoe at the NMS and even that has been hard to find with less then 3-5 players.
I notice the casinos are closing tables in the pits earlier now, with business slow, so it's pushing more players on less tables.

Time to start walking out if conditions are not good...after I rebuild our severly depleted bankroll.

Have to drum into my head, those lines in Reveres Book about playing only in good conditions, with good players, etc. etc...

Last night and all morning the kooks, drunks, buzzards, whiners, and superstitous players followed me from table to table....
One day I'll learn.

Ooh, that's bad. The play cost you a substantial amount of EV on a large bet, when all you had to do was tell the other players to blow it out their ass.

About the only play I won't do if I'm worried it will cause a riot is split tens. But that's a play that's wrong most of the time, and has other baggage with it. Hitting 16v7 is always right.
Never say never.

Hand One 5/5/5/5
Hand Two 4/4/4/4/3
Hand Three 3/3/3/2/2/2/2
Hand Four A/A/A/A/Q/J
Hand Five (Your Hand) 10/6

Just kidding, Easy. :) You're right. I used to do taxes, so I'm always looking for a loophole.

Well you do have a very good attitude so be careful and for heaven sake, only play under good conditions.

Read some of Arnolds books too, that is Arnold Snyder.

Today was a topper, walked up to a table, one open box, played 1 shoe. The entire table stood everytime the dealer had a 2. Rumor had it that the Dealers 2 was wild today. F@@@IN Morons. Dealer pulled 21 every time....
Should have known from that shoe that a black cloud was hanging over me all day... BAD BAD BAD DAY

So what? Everybody standing doesn't change the odds one bit, nor does it help the dealer pull a 21. I love it when everyone does something stupid; it's entertaining. Except for that, it makes no difference.

Tell a ploppy they should hit a 12 against a dealer 2 and they'll blame you for your lame advice every time they bust.

If I sit down at third base, I generally tell the table, I'm a little superstitious so I like to hit a 12 against a dealer 2 or 3 most of the time--unless I get a hunch not to (ie, if there is a plus 4 or better count<--I don't tell them this. lol). Usually they'll say "It's your money; do what you want." Occasionally, someone will agree that it's a good play.

Correct it doesn't change the odds, but standing on 7,8, A-3,A-4, A-5 doesnt justify standing against a 2.

Have read and reread many of his and other well followed pro players/authors books. Just need to be more disciplined. After this first major bankroll depletion, discipline will be much easier for me to obtain! I call it learning from my mistakes/disasters. Just hate always having to go down before I go up.

Thanks

The only downside I see regarding playing with idiots is that it may get you thinking negatively. For example, although I generally find dumb players to be entertaining, they can grate on my nerves if I'm having a run of negative variance, losing a lot of hands. rtfm.gif I always play best when I think positively, so a positive table with smart players dance010.gifwill definitely put one in the right frame of mind.
