I Just Experienced High Level Heat

Hello Everyone! I usually spread 1-10 in $100 Units using Hi-Lo in 6 Deck Games. As some of you remeber i recently made about $25,000 in 1 session. I returned to that same casino the other day to test the waters. The Pit boss ran my player card through, and he seen soemthing on the computer made a phone call and in came the VP of Table Games to Watch my Table for about 1 hour and 1/2. there were several other tables with high action in the pit, but this guy didnt take his eyes off of me. I wasnt counting more or less just playing for fun, trying to act as much like a ploppy as possible lost about $2,000 ..This ever happen to anyone? What was interesting i didnt see a change in penitration from my previous session when i won that $25,000

They haven’t confirmed that you are counting yet but they are on to you. The note on the computer probably told them to do a skills check on you the next time you showed up. If the VP of table games was watching you then they are concerned about your playing and your betting levels. You should take a break for a while and play without the player’s club card when you return. You might be able to hit them a few more times if you are careful.

It was a little less then 2 Decks Cut off which it was when i had my big win. It didnt change on this most recent session where the VP was watching.

I think the VP was counting also. if he was he sure needed to concentrate alot, one of the floorperson's asked him how he was doing and it looked like he got all all frustrated...amateur...lol

I would really expect to not have the guy hawking your play directly. It really seems like it would be more efficient to review tape.

It would seem that just playing and messing around was a good way. That or playing opposite of the count (which would be fun, but expensive).

That reminds of the first time I ever played blackjack in a casino. I was at Ameristar in Vicksburg, MS and they had a single table open with a $100 minimum. They aren't used to those kind of stakes there and I'm sure they opened the table just for the one player who was there.

I noticed that the pit boss stood beside the table for a LONG time and basically did nothing but stare at the cards the whole way through. Like I said, it was my first time ever playing live blackjack but I had read enough at that point to know exactly what was going on or to at least be pretty damn sure of it.

He was waiting for you to increase your bet with the count. The moment you did, he would tell the dealer to reshuffle.

Next time you play with your card there, the same thing is likely to happen again. Don't use your card and avoid that shift for a while.

in those instances when my name flags the computer I am just half penned,
no VP bothers to stare me down...but then again you are probably much better looking than me!

I'm thinking the AC thing probably has something to do with it. To disclaim: I haven't actually played there. But since they can't kick you out or prevent your from playing, all they can do is dick with your in a variety of ways. The simplest is to hawk your play, the next are to start cutting pen or messing with table limits. But they probably wouldn't want to do that unless they were extremely sure you were counting.

Yes Definatly. The Regular Pit Boss came by to check the table one time and the VP said something like why dont you check the other side of the pit, or something. weird...he was probaly mad cuz he lost count again

This has happened to me also.

Guy show up watching me. I switch tables. He follows me to that table.

I don't understand this thing about the VP standing behind you for 1 and 1/2 hours.
They could watch you with their cameras without anybody knowing about it.
I had the dealers over pay me before and the pit boss told me to pay them back because the cameras have detected this and confirmed this.

Since they can not stop him from playing in AC, my guess is the VP is there for the intimidation factor hoping he messes up or decides to leave on his own feeling uncomfortable.

Most likely if they are sure he is counting, pen would be seriously reduced (I had a dealer cut off about 4 decks in a 6 deck once, basically telling me it was time to leave the reservation), or limits made on his bets or early shuffles. Instead they decided to put someone right there hawking his game till they were sure or till he left.
Unusual but it is AC.

GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!!! Don't keep playing with that kind of heat in AC. Leave, don't get your picture taken, and get confirmed as a counter, and go on to the next place. Why weren't you just back-counting shoe games, anyways? That's the best way to play them most of the time. Don't go back to that casino for awhile.

I'm guessing they already know you are a counter. All they have to do is run the video from when you originally won and count your play. They got you to flatbet without saying a word and brought $2,000 back to the house, You are not going to convince them you are not a counter no matter what you do, if they have already confirmed it on video playback. But as long as you flatbet, they will leave you alone, other than watching you like a hawk.

I know of a current case in Vegas where they absolutely know one of their high-roller customers is a counter. They continue to allow him to play because he keeps losing. They will move in and put the clamps on him (make him flatbet or refuse to deal to him) the moment he begins to win via counting (they always count along with him, so they will know). He is over $2 million loser and doesn't even know he has a snowball's chance of recovering at this casino. Don't let them "play" you.

Unless he's been verified as an extremely bad counter (with no advantage), that's just retarded on their part. Every hand they allow him to play is theoretically costing him money. Following that strategy is the casino intentionally saying that they value "sticking it" to this guy more than they value making money.
