How much you win (or lose) isn't typically the determining factor for heat. It would be "how" you play the game.BJLFS said:EC some years ago for winning $800! They had security escort him out after he cahed out. $800?? That's it?!?! Man that place is a sweat shop.
He mentioned it was in LV and the first thing I said was the EC!
You know what's funny is I know that he is not an AP.Billy C1 said:How much you win (or lose) isn't typically the determining factor for heat. It would be "how" you play the game.

Check your PM.Lonesome Gambler said:No doubt about it, EC is terrified of action. The game is good, but it's tough to win any significant money there nowadays, so I usually avoid it. However, it's worth stopping by for a look at the new cocktail menu!
Yes. I have taken five figures out of that place probably 10-20 times over the years, and have never once gotten ANY kind of heat at all.Billy C1 said:It would be "how" you play the game.

Sorry, but I had thought that Billy C1 explained it very well:Sharky said:$10k+?....must be a pun
was it on slot m/c's?
oh, i got it....you are counting decimal places...$999.99, ok, i'll buy that!
The biggest mistake that the average card counter makes when he plays at the EC is that he utilizes too big of a betting spread. The games in that place (or anywhere else, for that matter) can easily be beaten by flat betting, if using one or some of the more advanced playing techniques. But that ALONE won't do it. You MUST be able to show them a good enough act. If so, you'll just about last forever in the El Cortez.Billy C1 said:How much you win (or lose) isn't typically the determining factor for heat. Perhaps he had a bit too much to drink that night? In the El Cortez, I've seen many a ploppy escorted out for this very reason, whether winning OR losing. (After all, you DID only hear ONE side of the story!) :laugh:BJLFS said:You know what's funny is I know that he is not an AP.
I have a friend who got backed off raising his bet there from $10 to $20 :laugh:Sucker said:The biggest mistake that the average card counter makes when he plays at the EC is that he utilizes too big of a betting spread.
Because it is one of the better games in town. I play about 3 times a month. (usually when I am in the area for other reasons, rather than specifically traveling to the game). Very short sessions. Spreading green to light black and have been backed off only once. Again, this amounts to only a very limited number of hands. Probably 5-600 per year. I would prefer to get more than that at this location, but I will take what I can get. No sense in skipping the opportunity altogether.21forme said:I have a friend who got backed off raising his bet there from $10 to $20
Why even bother with that sh*hole?
So is the MGM DD game. That doesn't mean I play it.kewljason said:Because it is one of the better games in town. I play about 3 times a month. (usually when I am in the area for other reasons, rather than specifically traveling to the game).
That reminds me of the Silverado where I was playing before I learned card counting. I was playing "mimic the dealer," that is, hitting everything 16 and below, and staying on 17 and above. I was winning for hours until it got to the point that I would miss my plane if I stayed any longer. It was one of the few times I ever won with this stupid strategy (I should call it stradegy, because it doesn't deserve the former designation). Anyway, I guess I was saved by the need to leave before I was ready.White Guy said:That happened to me in Silverton while playing nickels at their barely playable game for 15 min. Minus the escort. I didn't even win any $$ and was not even there to play but to shop at BPS.
