when the count is +3 and above, what should i do with hands like 16 v 10, 16 v 9, 15 v 10, and 15 v 9. what about 16 v 7 when the count is +5?

those are the times when i have big bets out and i feel like hitting is suicide...

i'm aware that the indice for 16 v 10 is to stand when the count is positive, so i do stand with 16 v 10 if i can't surrender. what about the others?

Check the indices for your specific game. Often standing is the best option in high counts.

Stand, barely hit, barely hit, hit, and dear-god-don't-even-think-of-standing.

Most important thing: if you're not sure what if the play exists as a deviation, THEN DON'T DO IT, just play basic strategy. Your guess might be very, very wrong.

For instance 16v7 has an index of +9.
