Hell yes. Some small casinos will back anyone off for significant bet variation. They figure bet variation is uncommon enough in their customer base that it is easier to assume an unknown player is "up to something" and back him off than to figure out what he is doing and back him off only if he is playing with an advantage. And many people do not know the difference between "easier' and 'better."

Oh I'll give you that, but that's when they "suspect" he is up to something and MAY be playing with an edge. They're just too stupid to actually figure it out.

But if they KNEW you were playing with a disadvantage (AKA BS) then it's different.

The problem is they know AP's know BS, and it can be a long time before they see enough variations from BS to know whether you are a skilled player or just someone who doesn't know BS. You or I can tell the difference, not them. Meanwhile they see bet variation.
