What is the index for betting the Lucky Ladies side bet in an 8D game? Also, how much should I bet on the Lucky Ladies for each count above the index?

The minimum is $1 and the maximum is $25 for the full $25,000 payout for 2 Queens of Hearts and dealer blackjack.

There are two very relevant threads in the Variations forum.

If you're using Hi-Lo and the paytable is 4-9-19-125-1000, your strike point is +7. If you're using Hi-Lo and the paytable is 4-10-25-200-1000, your strike point is +5. You want to read those threads though, there's lots of good info in them.

Lucky ladies is by far my favorite side bet...for whatever reason I had previously thought the strike point was +4, then someone corrected me...then I forgot again until I stumbled on this haha. Ugh, night shift.

Ah gotta love the Lucky Ladies, especially the better paytable ones. Fortunate to have one at my local casino.

Nothing better to all of sudden place a max LL side bet and catch a suited pair. Ticks off the ploppies who have been missing them all night :)

Also, kind of sort of acts like a hedge against the dealer 20's and BJs at a high count.

Don't underbet it. Once you hit the index, bet the max.

Newb question, but...given that the index is supposed to be +7, the RC needed to start betting max on it is 7 * Decks Remaining, correct?

I.e. in an 8 deck shoe for decks remaining = [8-2] (2 decks cut off) your RC would need to be at + (56, 49, 42, 35, 28, 21, 14)

Just want to be sure to have my head around that, like I said...almost total newb.

Correct. TC=RC/DR so TC*DR=RC is mathematically equivalent.

Again correct, so obviously it's impossible to get a TC of +7 until you're 50 cards into an 8 deck shoe. I can count the number of times I've seen a TC => 7 on one hand, and it's always been with < 4 decks remaining.

On the other hand when I grow weary of the horrible conditions at my local store and decide to make the drive out to the next closest one, which happens to have the better LL pay table (so the index is only +5), I can count on placing LL bets for part of at least 2 shoes each trip.

I just wish they had LL in Fort McMurray...instead they have Lucky Lucky, and it's a pretty crappy side bet.

EDIT: I think it's crappy, but apparently Wizard of Odds says different.

Once you figure out the strike point, the bet size is simple - for all BRs except for very small ones the bet is $25. zg

Can you define a very small BR? Just curious :)

Lucky Ladies killed me. I had several TC's of +12, 18, 10, 11 etc.. Everytime I threw a bet out there I'd miss.. I lost at least 12 units on LL in one monster shoe.

I live in fort McMurray also... back in day, i used to live in Vancouver when they used to have offer 6D shoe. you could bet a max of $100 on LL, but if you hit two Q of harts, the max payout was $25,000 not $100,000
