Hello everyone,
I'm a 15 years old and put it simply I love casinos and gambling :) People can say whatever they want against it, I will still love it. Now obviously I'm not a rich, so I can't just keep going there for fun, and as I have only 15 years right now and I didn't earned any of my own money - spending it is a more painfully..

So after I heard of counting cards and read about MIT team, I am hooked. I started practicing right away.. I just love the idea of going daily to casino, spending hour or so, bet with small $$ (atleast in beginning) and knowing that if I've done everything correctly my EV will be etc etc in etc number of days.

So here's a simply question, if I practice this every night or day, if I play blackjack a lot, and learn basic strategy to its perfect, can I make living out of this? Remember I'm only 15 years old, so while it may be advantage to over how much years to come I have for training, it also comes as disadvantage of having much real money.. After all you think my parents will be happy to see me going in casino daily :D ? And yeah try to explain them that I should make a safe profit from it in future..

And last thing, I live in not so gambling-popular city.. and even country. I live in Serbia! So this might be a good thing - no survellance and eye in the sky :D People in front of camera's computers just drinking coffee and chatting about news.. Could this go in my advantage?

So thank you for reading it all,
hopefully I didn't bore you! ;)

Well its not guarentee this is still gambling. Also you need a big bankroll to support your playing espically if you would plan to make a living out of this... which is highly unlikely...

I just love the idea of going daily to casino, spending hour or so
you would have to plan on a lotttt more than just an hour a day

bet with small $$
do you know the bankroll needed just for a $5 game? ($3000) And with no income you will have en extremley hard time making that money.

As for no eye in the sky the only thing i can see being of benifit is that they might not catch you for counting so quick. A drawback is your security a 15 year old with a lot of cash (if it worked out) is an easy target for a mugging. Maybe the casinos would even be crooked

as for your paernts supporting going to the casino every day and making a living..... well if you have good parents they will not support that in any way. (dont take this the wrong way)

Oh.. Haven't had a clue THAT big bankroll is needed. Well I guess I will stick with having daily job, and blackjacking will be a profitable (i hope) hobby.. So one time perhaps I would have a lot money of it and maybe move to the next level (no job, pro blackjack)..

Well that's ok, I love to play. I just meant few hours to not look suspicious but seems like I have a ton more to learn :)

Oh don't get me wrong, I didn't think of going now to casinos, I just meant mastering it now.. So once I have a job, or atleast am of legal age I can go normally to casinos.

Another question is: I've always seen card counting in teams, with spotter and BP etc.. How this apply to individual? Can they pull it off nicely, without spreading bets much? Can I just stand next to table, count it and when I see a nice cards, hop in and play and be a BP by myself? Or should I try to convince my brother (who is into Texas hold'em) so we can organize a trip to LA in a ten years or so LOL  ?

Thank you for your help :D

You must understand that getting educated and earning an income will come before any real try at making an income at blackjack. Few individuals make their living playing blackjack, many supliment their income nicely. Teams come and go and think about it, the MIT kids left college with a great education that could take them into many good earning fields, better than blackjack.

The advantage of team play is you have many players playing to a combined big bankroll. You might have a dozen spotters for four BP's or something similar, broken down into 4 different casinos. It is mainly about getting in enough hands so your long term advantage comes quicker. Think this way also: A good counter, playing one of the better games in the U.S., can expect to win during 65% of their sessions. That also means they will lose during 35% of their sessions. Do not play the best games and these numbers become worse.
As a team with 4 BP's you will also lose during 35% of your individual sessions but since you always have 4 sessions going on at once, you easily can be winning every single day. One BP loses and perhaps three win.

The combined bank, with the multiple playing increasing that combined bank also enables you to bet much more, helping you increase your bank that much quicker.

As an individual, you can have several losing sessions in a row which can stress your bank, perhaps taking all your bankroll or causing you to decrease your bets in order to build the bank back.

There are also problems with teams. There are generally investors who take the biggest chunk of the profits and there is always the problem of trust and honesty amongst teammates.

Most experienced people on this site are individual players who supliment their income, some have played full time in the past, some have played on teams and some currently do this, but most are individual players.

Finally, when you are closer to legal age and if you are still interested in playing blackjack in Serbia or one of the nearby Republics that have casinos, find out who owns them and what the rules are. Many European casinos are government run and they tend to have very poor games. Many are, especially in Eastern Europe, owned by criminal gangs and here they may offer better games but may take the money back from you if they catch you counting or cheat their customers, as casinos in the Chech Republic have a reputation for doing.

If you're 15 years old, your chances of making a million are much better by getting a 4.0, going to an elite university, and getting into an elite Med, Law, or MBA program. $100k a year at least on that path, potential for a lot more. Unless you run a large team with a large bank, your earning probably won't ever hit $100k a year with blackjack.
