Money found on the ground

You didn't invent the term "scavenger blackjack":

... I just realized over the weekend that I didn't play a single scavenger play. I didn't have TOO many opportunities as most players were pretty good about doubling and splitting, but I think there was a few, where if I couldn't have convinced them to make a positive expecation split, I could I swayed them if we teamed up on it.

How do you guys handle when the ploppy stiffs you on the double down or split. On numerous occasions I've gladly put out the money for someone that was short or was on their last desperation bet and got a good double down and I've pushed the money over to them and when they won the hand they only shipped back my original bet. More often than not when the bet is successful the player has sent me the winnings as well. But, I've been burnt a few times and now I'm not so eager to put up the money. I'd like to find out how most of you approach it so you don't get screwed. The last memorable one I remember was putting up 150 on a guys 11 and the dealer painted it and he shipped me back the 150 and a 25$ thank you and I argued with him that I should be entitled to the rest and he got up and walked away.

And about the money found on the ground well I got a good story on that subject. On Christmas Eve years back I found $400 on the ground near a bathroom and I picked it up and went in the bathroom counted it and couldn't believe how much there was. Well I started getting paranoid and freaking out so I cashed out the chips I had in my pocket and headed to the coat check and as I was leaving I got tapped on the shoulder by two suits who escorted me back to the interrogation room and wanted the money back because the guy that lost it went to the security and they were able to rewind the tapes and identify me. It wasn't a big deal as I really didn't think much money was there and when I saw how much there was I freaked out and was going to leave the joint. Well even after I returned the money they threatened to put me in jail because technically it is their money once it hits the floor and I had stolen it. They 86ed me from the joint permanently.

I was in Vegas a few years ago, walking across the lobby at Flaming Hilton...
Flaming Hilton? Isn't that a cabaret show where a drag queen reinacts Paris' jail term?

It hasn't actually happened to me yet, but I usually make sure to emphasize that we're "a team" for that hand, and no one has not gotten the point yet.

However, one time at the Golden Gate, downtown, I was accompanied by three drunk guys throwing around the greens and watching the basketball game. One of them tops off a doubledown that I was short on by a green or two. The bet wins, I hand him off his bet and his winnings, and he says "aw hell, I thought that was just a loan between two good buddies!". He was more interested in the $1k bet he had on the game.

I once put up most of the money for a DD that ended up losing. Guy left the table as he had no money left.Next day,I get a tap on the shoulder and its the guy paying me back the money I "lent" him.

Bay area, CA.

If I had time would check out Tahoe and Reno. Business has me too busy lately.

From what I know your basic places are River Rock Casino, Jackson Rancheria and Cache Creek. Probably one in the South Bay too but can't remember the name.

Cache Creek is where a guy has a fighting chance. they have decent penetration on six decks. Splits allowed and double any card. I forget some of the other rules. Not sure if there is double after split.

River Rock is mostly CSM's but a few tables have the six deck manual shuffle. However they only use about half the deck. Never the less I really scored big once on a high running count (plus 21), but how often is that gonna happen?

Yeah that was where i split queens against dealers six card. While I received the two worst hands in return (16 & 15) the dealer went bust, Matter of fact had I not split the queens the whole table would have lost including my twenty. Dealer's hole card was a nine: He got another nine and busted But if I didn't split the queens? Well 9 + 6 + 6 = 21...

I've never been to Jackson Rancheria. Nor that one out by Sacto called "Thunder" something.

Otherwise the pickins are even slimmer here. Just a few card rooms with very bad rules. Most manually shuffled deck rooms have a one dollar payment per hand unless you bet over a hundred. That and wild cards which screw up even the best of counts.
Never been to Jackson Rancheria eh?
6 deck, about 65% penetration, DAS, and they got a lucky ladies side bet.
not too many tables though.
and you were thinking maybe Thunder Valley?

when i did i say i did? i was making fun of myself for saying "scavengering" which isnt a word, the correct word is scavenging.. in fact, sonny said the same thing, http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bb/showpost.php?p=27233&postcount=3.. not sure how you turned "i think i made up a word" into "i think i made up a term to refer to playing off of others mistakes"
