Highly doubtful. Hate to pay for it. But I guess it's never "free" is it?
What kewl said makes sense to me. Having a vehicle allows much more independence for sure.
I'd like to move out there this spring but it's all dependent on the sale of my business. It's not the ideal time for selling.

It may not be an ideal time for selling, Billy, but if you can manage to get that job done, it is an ideal time for buying. I purchased a property 3 months ago for 30% of its value just 4 years ago when it was built.

As for the car thing, Shad, I am one of those public transportation people at the moment. Living in Center city Philadelphia, I had no need for or desire for a car. It just cost way too much. Insurance and parking runs 5 figures. I could walk most places or take the subway. Take the train to AC and foxwoods.

I am finding Vegas a little different. I can walk to the strip easy enough (1 block) and catch a bus downtown, but don't have the freedom of hitting the better local's casinos like stations at the moment. Things like shopping are just spread out, so I will be getting a car this spring. Besides if ya live in this area, you want to make trips to reno, and many of the small towns to play, as well as trips to Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Lake mead and Red Rock Canyon area.

Unfortunately, I did my condo buying at the WORST POSSIBLE time (Aug 04)
so selling property now almost adds insult to injury. Could hedge it to an extent by purchasing another property, I suppose.
Again, thanks for opinions on this (Shad and kewl)

Airport vans are a rip-off? Really? What would you consider to be a fair price from the airport to Downtown or the Strip?
I think they are tremendous bargins, particularly CLS which has never let me down.
Yeah, $8 to go downtown is really good. Cabs in Vegas are pretty reasonable compared to most other places I've been.

I have traveled on the monorail evertime I go to Vegas. I think it is a great way to get around. I'm sorry to hear that we may lose this system of transportation.

I think that the system should have run from the airport along the East side of the strip to downtown and then North behind the TI, and to the airport. I know this project would have cost millions more but I feel more people would travel it.

One of the drawbacks of the monorail is that a few drop off locations are a good walk to the casino and maby some people don't care for that walk. I stay sometimes at the MGM but I like to play around the Flamingo so I always get a 3 day pass and it works well for me.

Hope they are able to keep running.
