Some stores allegedly give only half the amount of comps for VP play. I believe Borgata is one such casino--at least, I heard that somewhere.

Nope - bear in mind that he made his million (assuming you believe the book) playing machines which were positive EV due to cashback, points and drawings. How else would you evaluate playthrough ? Also, as I recall he mentions players cards in the book.

I'm not sure why you keep posting that there are no positive EV machines.. But you know what, I agree. No machine returns more than 100%. Vpfree2.com obviously have it all wrong, fooling all us gullible suckers.

Also, remember never to sail past the horizon - you'll drop off the end of the world.

There were player clubs long before there were slots to put your card into machines. These cards are a relatively new aspect to advantage play. Back in the dark ages pre 2000, casinos used different ways to reward players. Matter of fact, it's only in the last five years or so that El Cortez started using players cards but they have had a great cashback and comp program since I've been going to Vegas. You pretty much were rewarded for hitting jackpots, not for coin in in those dark old days Hit a $250 jackpot and you became a member of his Four Seasons Club and you'd be comped for life. Even when they introduced their cards- they rewarded you for coins out, not coins in.
Before machines started accepting dollar bills, many casinos actually rated you on the amount of coin you'd buy at the cashiers
Those were the days. Buy $200 worth of quarters, unroll them and lug them to the coin cashier, get bills and repeat endlessly. After a day or two you were comped like a high roller. Come in on a junket, deposit $5,000 into the cage and be treated like a rock star for the weekend.

If for no other reason, playing the slots will make you look more like a gambler and less like an AP Blackjack hustler in the casino's perception of you.

Maybe that's because you are. Any excuse to gamble is still just an excuse to gamble. The "cover" rationale doesn't fly. You'd have a better chance if you just put your bj winnings on red for one spin of the wheel.
