Everyone should vote--lol--do your duty.

No problem. I am surprised as well, actually.

I'm also surprised at the number of KISS users. I wonder if everyone's using KISS III or if we have some level I or II players out there?
Yeah, I could've guessed pretty closely so far except for KISS, Red 7's and Halves. The more people who vote (honestly) will yield better statisics.

Given the ease of III, I would actually be surprised if anyone stops on I or II for more than a day!:)

Very surprised to see more votes for KISS than KO since KO is typically treated as THE unbalanced counting system.

Has there been a debate yet between users of KO and KISS on this forum?

I happened to have purchased both KO Blackjack and Blackjack Bluebook II at the same time, and so now am torn between which system to focus on. Both books seem to show a lot of thorough research and playing/betting info.

From the sims that have been run and whatnot, the honest answer is that it doesn't really matter. In a shootout between KO, KISS and Red 7, Red 7 actually came out on top by hundredths of a percent I believe, but you will achieve virtually identical results with either of the three. So the bottom line is you should pick what works best for you and go with it.

I would welcome others comments though if they have more info on the situation.

Then why don't you use it?
Actually Ive been thinking about it. Especially since I can keep my ao2 indices. Though it wouldnt be hard, im soooo accustomed to the ao2 card tags, and the difference is so small I really dont see the need. But I have been pondering it. The canned sims, I have, show hi-opt2 barely on top. After I see what CVdata has to say, I will make my decision.:)

Good luck with that. Not sure how you guys do it. I'll keep trying to learn Red 7 and take the "easy" way out.

Thankfully most users don't engage those debates, and even the hi/lo v. KO debate has been minimal. I think all of us recognize the shortcomings and advantages of these systems even if we don't/haven't used a particular one.

I bought both books too. I picked KO, since I think i read it first. I think KO is simpler to learn based on the way rounded indicies were illustrated. Though having been using it for almost 2 years (jeeze that long now, wow :O ) I find myself now referring to BJBBII more often than KO to look up other index plays (not the numbers for KO obviously). I think BJBBII and KISS III is a great resource. Go with the one that you feel most comfortable with. Both systems have entry level counts which you can build on by adding bet ramps, rounded index plays, to precise index numbers. KO advocates a composite BS and Index strategy. BJBBII gives you all the tools you will need to get started for almost any game you can imagine.

Now as I play more DD and SD I refer to BJBBII to alter my composite BS....

Does anyone still us UAPC? Yes, I know I am old.

I would consider learning another system but no way am I going to learn the index calls all over again.

Perhaps there is a dinosaur group somewhere?

Can your new Kiss, Halves, Zen and other systems be all that much better than UAPC?

Fred, no doubt!

Who's using Mentor?
I'm learning a slightly modified Mentor trued to 1 deck, not 2 decks.
Took my first casino trip last week. Still don't count fast enough.
Practice, practice, practice.

Thank for the feedback, I love the Uapc. It does take a while to learn but once you have it down it is like taking candy from a baby.

I started with red7 because i was afraid of screwing up the math when converting for true. Then I read BJBB II, which went even further to clearing up the whole-for lack of better term-mystique of playing/counting/etc. I almost looked into KO, but when I found out that the BJBB author posted here-and replied very quickly to my questions-well, for me that was it.

Still curious about halves and Uston SS, but I plan on looking into different AP practices instead of jumping counts. After all, why reinvent the wheel???:grin:

Not really...

The 2DTC is the sh*t. zg
Fred does a nice job of explaining why 2DTC is slightly better than 1DTC, for
most people. But I have no problem dividing integers, and decimals are my play-
ground. So indices like 6.5 or 3.5 are no problem. My only problem is counting
fast enough, right now. I hope top have another go at CT or AC before the holidays,
on some slow weekday.(skip out of work) :)
