Close calls

U said u had some 'close calls' during your 15 session streak, what were they?
Do you think the casino was onto you playing a winning progression system?
Or did they think you were counting?
Or are you in the open about your betting system?

Dont listen to the doubters on this board touting math, statistics and logic, the only way to win at blackjack, or any gambling venture, is to go against the odds and make the money that way.

That might just be the single most stupid piece of advice I've read on this board in my over 4 1/2 years of being here. Only a fool would advise going against the odds. There's a reason why I have consistently won in blackjack and poker and it sure as heck isn't by going against the odds :laugh:

Follow your own advice and we will rename you, affectionately of course, $MeLose$.

I mean really, are you part of some surveillance crew at a major casino in Vegas with time on your hands? Would it not bother your conscience even a little if someone were to follow your advice, go against the odds, and lose their life savings? I'm sure you have your following--just how you live with yourself?

Aslan, I dont want anyone to follow my advice, quite the opposite in fact.
MikeinJersey has posted some pretty ridiculous and selfserving stuff, and i just wanted him to reply to my post to expose his bad advice and behaviour.
To repeat, playing at a constant disadvantage is a losing idea and im sorry for the confusion.

I do understand how going against the odds might work in the short run and might even give one a healthy win against the house. It's like people who only bet on long shots. The odds are against them for sure, but what they are focused on is that when they do win they will win big. They are willing to absorb a long run loss for a few short term but large wins.

I know a fellow who does not count but who parlays his bets. His goal is to win "bigtime." He is willing to lose more over the long run in order to capture the big one. Also, he is not happy until he is betting at the house max.

At least he knows that the odds are against him. "Beating the odds" (at least, "trying" to beat them) is his free will decision.

being sarcastic or not, you're actually right.

Like I said, I only play 1 vs. 1 against the dealer.

my goal is to win every hand in the shoe.

If I win 3 or 4 hands in a row, I will then play 2 hands (just once) knowing that the dealer is about to win a hand. This way I take it away from him...

If I see a ton of 10's near the beginning of the deck, i'll start hittin on my 16's..... If I see almost no 10's near the beginning , i'll stay...I even do the same on 15's and 14's sometimes. (especially if dealer has a 7 or 8 up)

and this is only part of my strategy...

I've found that going with the flow & patterns give you better odds than Counting. You just need to know what to expect. And no, its not always easy...but successful over the long haul.

must start with a lot of dough up front..

That is my goal too. So far it is hard to achieve especially when I am the only player at the table because there are a lot of hands in a shoe.

I think I see your problem. Hands don't go in shoes. They go in gloves. Feet go in shoes.

Hard to say nowadays. For example at airport, one can see hands in gloves as well as hands in gloves in pants.

Ignoring the rest of your drivel for the moment...
That is a distinct possibility. It's also possible that you may lose both hands, win one and lose one, push one or both, etc. You may even win both hands and then screw up the cards for the rest of the shoe for yourself. How do you know that the dealer is about to win a hand? How do you know that playing 2 hands will take it away from him. You must have amazing precognitive powers that us mere mortals could never put to use. You should write a book on how win with ignorance and stupidity. It would be a best seller for sure.

I use my magic eight-ball. It has worked well up to this point. Oh, there it goes again. It said I should keep this post short. :joker:
