1) Buy in for almost your full amount at the cage. Then sit down.
I've tried to buy in at the cage but they always get pissy with me. They just keep saying "You can buy in at the table, sir." I guess they think it will mess up their hold % if too many people buy in at the cage or something.

These days I just walk out with my chips in my pocket to use for future sessions. I usually have a few smaller chips ratholed as well so that helps too. Often I won't cash in any chips until the last day of my trip, or sometimes even several trips later. That makes it easier to backcount and harder for the pit to keep track of your wins and losses.

That’s true. When a player turns down free stuff, the pit bosses rightfully get suspicious. I’ve heard several pit bosses say this. There are a few ways to handle this.

Playing with a card:

-“I don’t want the IRS to know about this. I've already got problems.”
-“I don’t want my wife to know about this part of the “’business trip.’”
-“I’m sick of all that junk mail. I get crap every week from XYZ casino ever since I signed up.”
-“I don’t give anybody my personal information ever since my identity was stolen last year.”
-“I don’t have time for the paperwork. My flight leaves in two hours and I need to win back $300!”
-“No way! If the guys from Gamblers Anonymous find out that I’m here I’ll break my probation.”
-“No, I can’t stay for long. My wife is asleep upstairs and I need to get back before she wakes up.” This is great for Wonging.

The list goes on and on. There are dozens of different excuses to give depending on what sort of act you are using and what style of play you are using.

Heard one guy say "No, I'm supposed to be somewhere else, and don't want to show up here". He then frequenbtly checked his cell for mesages as if he was going to get a work call.

Try buying-in at the poker cage. They prefer it if you don't cash-in at the table, since it just disrupts the game (and their rake). Plus, since there's usually a waiting list for poker, you can just pick up your chips and "wander a bit".
