risk of ruin/ betting strategy

I have been practicing blackjack for a while and now feel ready to take on the casinos. The only problem is that i only have $2,500 to start with. With only 6-8 deck games available in my area i know i can not afford to sit through all the negative counts. So i was wondering if anyone knew what the risk of ruin would be if I used the following approach or if it would be a good idea to do such. I would wong in with a count of +2 or better. I would bet $15 on a count of +1 and $25 with a count of +2 or better. If the count dropped below +1 i would leave the table. Any feed back on this would be greatly appreciated or if anyone has a good idea on how to attack 6 to 8 deck shoes with such a small bankroll.

Reasonably Sound

Entering at TC2 and willing to play down to TC1 is reasonable. I would lower your bet to the table minimum at TC1 given your small bankroll. Do not play any negative hands.

You didn't mention the counting system or game rules, but here's a generic estimation:

EV = $7.25/hour
SD = $126.69/hour
ROR = 10.42%
N0 = 30,536

You need to use a bigger spread than 1:1.67. Maybe something like this:

+1 = $15
+2 = $15
+3 = $25
+4 = 2 x $25
+5 = 2 x $25
+6 = 2 x $25
>+6= 2 x $50

EV = $12.06/hour
SD = $157.13/hour
ROR = 8.66%
N0 = 16,976

Using a bigger spread can earn more money, lower your risk and get you to the long run much sooner if done properly. You will have to decide how much risk you are comfortable with so you'll have to tinker around for a while to find your final bet spread.

Basically, I agree with Sonny. As a different perspective, try a single $50 bet at +4 or more. It does have a higher SD, but in some places, going to 2 hands also raises flags. The 3 1/3:1 spread ain't great, but does lend itself to the nibbling pihranna style of play.

Personlly at a $15 table, I don't like $100 bets of any type. YOMV, and are respected.
