Splitting 8`s

Is it the proper play to split 8s against a ten or ace maybe even a 9? Like if the count is high so you have a decent size bet out and you get a pair of 8s against the dealers high card and it is likly that the dealer has a ten in the hole.

the count has to be EXTREMELY high for you to not split 8's vs a 10 up.

For the Ace, it has the opposite effect. Meaning the higher the count, the more likely you are to split. Wether or not you can double after splitting, it will have a Modest effect for 88vsX.

Level2(PE.67)stand, if Sr, is not allowed.

DAS +12
NDAS +8

Stand on a pair 88s vs 9 at double the above Index(have to re-check this).

Note:If I was playing on a short stacked BR,(which I am) I might be compelled to Stand on this, @ about 1/2 the Index, w/MaxBets!
