What is the most that you have won in one hour or less? Both as an A.P. and an average player. I won $675 and $442 in less than 1 hour sessions. Once I had a rediculous streak of hitting 21's in a session I think I hit about 5 or 6 in a row. Not blackjacks but drawing to 21. Even the players around me thought it was ridiclous I was laughing too and having a great time I recall winning around $300 that session.

betting $10 flat, not card counting, i won $300 in 2 hours.. also without counting im up $200 lifetime (200 hours or so)

doesnt have to be rare, he asked whats YOUR best.. yes i am being technical, but technically i am correct! hazaa.. and yes, i recently posted about 5 good questions that have stumped a few people, and i would rather post 1 good question and just look at all the answers than post random statements, which i seem to do a lot!

the worst part about losing is i'm 20 y/o, and all these people always gather behind me and give me the "this guy is ****ed, hes trying to get unstuck and now hes lost even more" look. i know i shldn't, and ususaly don't, care what the other gamblers think, but the peer pressure or whatever it is (i'm sure a psychologist could explain it) pretty powerful.

i hope you have at least $100,000 for your bankroll, and im probably underestimating.. and thats if your counting! if your not counting, you need probably $10,000/hr bankroll to have a decent RoR

1. i am counting, im just not spreading, but i only play when the house edge is .35% or lower (+1/6 true count), so i could be playing at an advantage, but regardless, im at least close to zero.. 2. those were totally random guesses, because i have read that you need about 10k even for the smallest spread like $10-$40, so i was assuming you were doing like $50-$250, but i think my mistake was i was calculating that for a $250 flat bet or something.. like i said, it was a random guess

A general rule of thumb is to have a total bankroll of 100 units. A $10-$40 spread would need about a $1,000 bankroll. If you use a large spread so that your max bet is much bigger than your unit size, some people will guesstimate a total bankroll of 50 max bets to be more precise.

Those are just general rules, but it will give you a good idea of how to start sizing your bets. Obviously the bankroll requirements will change based on different playing styles and tolerances for risk so nothing is set in stone, but the 100/50 guideline can get you in the ballpark to start with.

Sonny, I thought 100 of your max bet with a 1-5 spread was a much "safer" BR size? That would be 500 of the min bet.

Oh and to answer the question, I'd say about 60u.

It wasn't blackjack, but the first time I played baccarat in around 15 hands there were 12 ties. I started with 50 dollars, as I always do on any game, I hadn't played baccarat in my life so I didn't know what was normal and what was not, the dealer couldn't believe it either. I read online that there is a less than one in ten chance of a tie. I made a lot of money on that table, I mean a LOT of money ^_^ But if I had of known about the odds of a tie coming up, I wouldn't have bet on it at all. Also that same table, three perfect pairs in a row and two of them were PERFECT perfect pairs, 20:1 payout. The odds of a perfect pair are also quite low, I didn't bet on those though

But yeah, even though I made around a few thousand dollars on that table (and a few thousand dollars is a lot to to me, like seriously a lot), I wont be doing it again now that I am informed of the actual odds.

i know you are a senior member on here, but i am 100% sure that you do not do 100 times your unit size, because that makes no sense at all.. according to that, a $10-$20 better needs the same bankroll as a $10-$50 bettor.. kevin blackwoods book says 100 max bets, so i think thats where you got that 100 unit size from.. your unit size has nothing to do with anything.. $10-$100 the same as $10 flat bettor? no way.. so that means $10-$50 needs a $5000 bankroll, which sounds a little low to me, but i guess not.. but on the flip side, what if your spread was $50-$60, does that mean you only need 6000 bankroll? what if it was $10-$60, does that mean you still need a $6000 bankroll? there is no easy calculation for bankroll, but rather an estimate BASED ON using hi-lo and spreading a common amount like 1-8 units on shoes or 1-5 on double deck or something like that, and you probably need another variable filled in to calc your bankroll as well.. no matter how you look at it, its not that simple, but it sure as hell isnt your lowest bet*100.. that would have a huge RoR

I heard that Charles Barkley won $700,000 over the weekend playing blackjack! However I also heard that he has lost as much as $2 million in a session and claims to have lost $10 million for which he replies I can afford it.

I was down to about $5, and within half an hour turned it into $1500. I got the first $700 or so using somewhat of a positive progression, then eventually started flat betting 5 hands @ $100...told myself I'd keep going until I lost, got up to $2000, then lost and stopped.

Last Tuesday I gained 60 units in 4 consecutive winning hands betting max in a 1X-10X spread. 1 BJ (15u), 1 double down (20u), 1 split (20u), and 1 nineteen vs. dealer 17 (5u). I got cautious on that last bet and reduced the bet from 10u to 5u. The final bet before the end of the shoe was a 5u loss so I walked with 55u plus 2.5u that I was already ahead.

A ploppy 2 seats in front of me said, he sure knows when to bet. He must be counting. I left to "get some exercise." Upon returning to that table an hour or two later, I noticed the yellow card was over the two deck mark on the next shuffle, which is pretty poor pen in a 6-deck game. I left "to get something to eat."
