Can anyone tell me what's the average time one shoe is being dealt ? (with and without tipping, single player and many players...)

Thanks.
Table 92 of "Professional Blackjack" is titled "Average Times for Shuffling and Dealing Six-Deck Blackjack in Atlantic City". Granted, it is a small sample size (13 shuffles, 261 rounds of play). From the information provided, a shoe with only one player, on average, will yield 59 rounds, with an average of 12 seconds per round. 59 rounds/shoe * 12 sec/round = 708 sec/shoe, which comes out to 11.8 minutes per shoe for heads-up play. Wong cites that he kept the clock running during "short delays", usually buy-ins, during this study. Using just the information in this table, I got the following values:

2 players: 17.7 minutes/shoe
3 players: 14 minutes/shoe
4 players: 16.3 minutes/shoe
5 players: 24.1 minutes/shoe
6 players: 14.7 minutes/shoe
7 players: 24.8 minutes/shoe

Again, a small sample size, but I couldn't find any other data addressing this question in my references. The author also states that "Mean dealing time increased approximately linearly with the number of players. The average round of blackjack in Atlantic City took about (7n + 5) seconds, where "n" is the number of player hands".

Hope this helps.

It was reported by a member via the objectionable post link. The reporting user felt that the post was made only to antagonize you. By the time I checked it, Sonny had actually relocated it to a thread of its own. Looking at the tone of the posts, I tended to agree with the reporting member. Since you are at the root of the post, PM you if you would like the thread undeleted.
Oh, it was InPlay. I didn't see what he wrote. You deleted it before I saw the allegedly objectionable material.

If you are going to tip at all tip at least tip a $1 anybody who wants to give me less than that I want to return it to them and say tip at least a $1 chip or don't bother. Tipping $1 on a $100 hand is not an insulate as long as do it with frequency. If you only make $1 bet after you have won a couple thousand dollars than that is kind of insulating. As a dealer I see $1-$5 toke bets all the time. As a player I like to make $1 toke bets and some times I will make a toke bet on another players hand especially if the player has a
1st card is an ace coupon because I want the dealer to win my bets.

Thanks Cardcounter, that is a helpful opinion.
