Unbelievable payoff...twice.

This happened many many months ago at a store I don't visit very often. I've been back several times since this happened without any heat so I figure it's safe to share. Here's what happened.

I walk into the casino and I see a fresh shuffle starting. There is someone sitting at third base, last physical spot on the table and there is someone sitting at the very first spot at the table. I sit down dead center in front of the dealer. We go through the first shoe without anything exciting going on. The dealer is one of those guys who thinks he's the coolest guy in the room. Flipping the cards at people, grabbing chips very quickly and slapping them down. It appears he's trying to show some "flair". He has also appointed himself the ambassador of pointing out cute girls to everyone so he's looking up more than he's watching what he's doing. About halfway through the 2nd shoe the count is hovering around zero so I have 2 red chips out. ($10). After I put my bet out the pitboss comes over to count the tray. While the pitboss is busy counting I get dealt 20 and the dealer busts so the whole table wins. The dealer pays the person to my right 2 reds, pays me 2 greens, and pays the person to my left 2 reds. The pitboss is 2 feet away busy counting the tray, the dealer is looking for chicks, and I have 2 greens sitting next to my 2 reds. I'm dumbfounded. I recover quickly and grab the chips like nothing happened. Nobody seems to notice. The very next hand I am dealt another 20 and the dealer busts. The pitboss is still there counting and the dealer pays me 1 red with a green on top. Again nobody seems to notice. I finish the shoe and quietly color-up and leave. Anyone else ever seen anything like that before?

Was the pb male as well? Colorblindness? No matter what, sounds profitable.

I was once paid four greens instead of four reds. But it only happened once.

The only one recent enough to recall the details. I got paid for a $15 blackjack with 4 red and 2 pink. A whopping $2.50 extra. Better than nothing extra though.

I've been paid out incorrectly numerous times to my advantage. I dont know what it is about middle aged females, but they are the only ones who ever point out that the dealer paid me too much.

I was playing two hands per round. I had lost on both with 3/4 my bet max out - one of them being a double down. The dealer paid off the double down and pushed the other one.

I have had those types of mispays were they add cards wrong. It happens a lot. You have to pay close attention to catch the ones that hurt you.

I'm sure there are! Red/green is a common form of color blindness. Being the cheques have markings other than color if one is careful one can work around it. But the dealer is in a hurry, distracted, and it can happen. I've had this kind of payoff too, and also have been offered reds in place of greens, and as you might imagine that offer is one I decline.

I was playing at my local store last weekend betting 4 units and got a BJ, this sloppy dealer was just about paying me 36 units because he thought I won the side bet that I didn't even bet, this ploppy yelled at the dealer and corrected it, WTF!!! Same shoe, I had my max bet out and also had a red chip betting for the sloppy dealer. He got an ace showing, I bought the insurance, I didn't place the insurance bet at the insurance line but right next to my original bet in the circle. Dealer ended up not have a BJ so when he was about to take my insurance bet, he got confused, and didn't know which ones were the insurance and started to ask me if the red chip that I placed for him was the insurance money, before I said anything, this same ploppy yelled at him and corrected him. Next time I am gonna play heads up with that guy and hopefully take advantage of his lack of concentration. One bad thing about him is he's really slow. I wonder how in the world casinos hire people like him. If I am running a casino, I would get rid of all the slow dealers.

I agree. This un named ploppy ,I probably shouldn't use that term because I am either still in ,or just out of, that range, and myself might have to go have a little chat outside. Not really. It would be tempting though.

In my relatively brief playing time I have yet to be over paid. However, there have been times when I placed my next bet immediately after losing a hand and the dealer will take my fresh bet after the conclusion of the hand. That has taught me to be a little patient.

I have been paid on that bet. Just speak up fast if they try to scoop it.

I knew a dealer who was colorblind. I never saw him screw up the chip colors. He said he just looks at the pips on the chips as they are different for each denomination. Same thing the eye would look for with older B&W cameras. I also know an AP who is colorblind and he seems to do OK when it comes to telling the chips apart.

No don't cheat. Sometimes the casinos aren't completely asleep But a dealer who's too quick with payouts and such is good. Sometimes they're more prone to this is in some situations then others.
