Just got back from a 5 day session in Vegas, it was my worst trip for profit ( only $4,300..) If some of the vets on here want to PM me I will give you details on pen, heat and what I can remember for rules at the casinos, I played approx. 20 casinos downtown and strip. Also, on the PM's just people that play in Vegas, NO newbies that haven't played in Vegas, I think I pretty much know who you all are anyway.

Now to the sick part, I'm pretty much done in Vegas. Got backed off at my fav. place because the dealer was counting along with me and said checks play on a $125 bet (strip), now the reason I know he was counting along with me is the pit came over and the dealer said to him " it's 9" the pit asked him what I had been betting and he said mostly quarters. I then got the tap over that. I strongly believe my picture was circulated amongst casinos due to my previous success. I bought in at the Flamingo Hilton for $1000.00 in a DD game, the pit stood over my table the whole time right from the start, damn looking at a positive 8 count and having to keep flat betting quarters.

I also played downtown, they sweat action. Well good luck to you all, I;m going to back off for at least 6 months in Vegas, I have some opportunities locally for some chump change in BJ. This was intended to be just for fun anyway, I have a great 9-5, I envy you that can keep doing this and not get heat.

I want to add that I am working today, so please be patient to responding back to your PM's. I had a craps dealer tell me that some casinos are backing off players that are just good at BS, the casinos only want people that will lose, and yes business is slow right now in Vegas, my host told me that and you hear at the tables. As far as players getting backed off for just playing BS I just cant believe that, but I guess after the bullchit I went through you never know. Hey, how the F can a dealer yell checks play when your betting $20.00 on 2 spots and raise it to $50.00, I must have been marked before I even sat down. That was downtown.

As a good friend always reminds me, don't back yourself off. If you're getting heat, either leave or test the water!

If it was a true count of +9... holy crap. I hope you at least got a few big bets in.

Also, at the joint where you were getting "checks play", it may be basic procedure for them. For instance, if it's a place where they yell "green action", they may not see a lot of high rollers. Although if it's a joint with a lot of foreign break-in dealers, it's more like "CHAX PRAY!".

And finally, I wouldn't worry too much about posting rules publicly. Anyone can find that info out by looking at the felt or even calling the casino. The exception would be any super-awesome promotion that would get burned out if everyone found out about it. You might or might not want to share pen, especially if it's only for certain dealers... same with heat.

What I've heard is that the casinos has an automated card counting system, and that the system had some connection with the voice also, so it can't be that the dealer is telling some info about the betting so the system can evaluate if the player might be cheating or not?

Given the fact that a lot of the best games are off the Strip, I'm surprised you got bounced down there. I hope for your sake that you were not playing with your own ID. Were you playing rated, with someone elses card, or anonymous? I found on my last visit that if I didnt have a players club card there was a lot more scrutiny of my action. And there was heat at the Tropicana DD game for me too, even though I never varied my bet. Personally I found their new restrictions too much to tolerate (not that the DD game there is more than a couple months old, but they've been tightening it up apparently since getting burned when they introduced it).

Only single deck is better off strip

Given the fact that a lot of the best games are off the Strip, I'm surprised you got bounced down there. I hope for your sake that you were not playing with your own ID. Wasn't serious at all, just told me they had evaluated my play ( which over 3 months was quite a bit) and that I can't play BJ there anymore. Welcome to play any other game, they were professional about it, not confrontational.

I never threw a players card in. Also, the Mirage is just one casino, but MGM/ Mirage has what 10 or so properties in Vegas Bellagio, NY NY, Mirage, TI, Man Bay, Excal, Circus, MGM, Luxor off the top of my head.

I never threw a players card in. Also, the Mirage is just one casino, but MGM/ Mirage has what 10 or so properties in Vegas Bellagio, NY NY, Mirage, TI, Man Bay, Excal, Circus, MGM, Luxor off the top of my head.

You get backed off at Mirage and with the instant magic of their computer system, you are basically backed off at all their Vegas properties (I do not know about it working nationally)

As I said in my earlier post, they have become much more active backing off players than 6 months or so ago. Today, they will back off a player from their 6 deck shoes who is playing light green, perhaps $25-$250 or so, while before they tended not too. They always watched the double deck games closely (double deck = counter trap at MGM) but short sessions with a decent act always worked, now the sessions should be shorter and the comp card is just not worth the possible multiple backoffs. I personally still play these games but have never played MGM casinos for comps.

Not so! I was backed off on the double deck game came back and played the next day. I also play at the MGM in Detroit 6 deck game no problem. I play with a players catd so figure that one out. My life time playing is on the + side also. Figure that out? I can't !
