Vegas trip, January

I'll be in Vegas in January, mostly for work, but I'll have some play time. Any interesting games/promos/attractions I should investigate?

Not much special happening these days with Las Vegas blackjack. I hardly go there to play blackjack anymore, but admit I still go to party on occasion. ;)

Nothing wrong with that! I have some time for a little fun myself, though I usually don't have the stomach for too much of it. In small doses I kind of enjoy the spectacle of it all, since I'm only there a couple times a year.

On my last trip I found a few playable games downtown, and the usual higher limit stuff on the strip wasn't too horrible. A few $25 S17 tables, and reasonable H17 pen at emgem.. I was disappointed to see the Mir age go all 6:5. Got a few free play promos around too.

A floor supervisor for one of the MGM Resorts casinos told me they had reduced all the 6-deck low limit games to 6 to 5 but that 3 to 2 was still available in the high limit areas. He also said they had moved toward CSMs, as well, not that it matters if the game is already 6 to 5.

There used to be a "high limit" pit of S17 at MGeM, but usually it was $25 minimum (some tables $50). Maybe 6-8 tables, with a couple DD S17. It was near the starbucks. Is that all gone now?

It is still there but other than slow times like early mornings mornings or weekday early afternoon you can expect them to all be $50-$100 minimum rather than $25-$50. Don't know or pay attention to Starbucks location, but its behind the craps pit I'm assuming you're referring to the same area.

It was enjoyable, mostly for work reasons, and for people-watching. I played some, at a few locations downtown with marginal but playable conditions. Won a few bucks. Nothing special though. I didn't bother with the strip this time.
