Hitting hard 17 is for the most part a rookie move.
Oftentimes these weak games have a habit of turning into good or even great games if you just leave them alone. Sometimes it takes weeks, and sometimes years. I once had a hopper dealer in a major strip casino who was completely dormant for three years. When she opened it up she was a 100% game for the next five, until a team from Chicago discovered her & burned her out completely, by hitting 17 & by surrendering hands of 17, 18, & even 19; with $1000 + bets on the table. Talk about killing the goose that laid the golden egg!
It's entirely possible that you just killed a future superstar. Not to mention the risk you took, of being identified as someone who knew something.
