Couldn't agree with you more.

I absolutely despise the term.

It's derogatory and pejorative.

Says alot more about the person using the word than the person he describes.

What is a ploppy?

Anyone who defends hitting 14 vs. a dealer's 6.
Anyone that hits 16 vs. 10 when surrender is offered,
Hearing the phrase "the flow...", or "the pattern..." is a statistically significant correllation.
And of course hearing the phrase, "The book is wrong.." my odds are better than even money to hit 14".
