But so what if they gain $50,000 overall, what gripes them is that a handful of card counters are possibly eking out a few more dollars a day. :laugh:paddywhack said:Every casino should offer surrender. It would improve all of their bottom lines due to the ignorance of the ploppy contingent.
You know they will not be happy until they kill the game. That's their job.BJgenius007 said:Before PA casinos opened, both Mountaineer and Wheeling Island had the same rule set: S17, 8 deck in main floor, 6 deck in HL room, DAS, DA2, no RSA, no LS. After PA casinos opened in July 2010, Mountaineer stays the same (this is your answer for the rule set, and penetration depends) but Wheeling Island tried to adapt and compete. They adapted late surrender as well as all PA casinos do. Then they opened 2 double deck tables as the loss leader. At first, these tables has $5 table minimal, so APs spread $5 to $500 and constantly made a fortune off it. The first step for Wheeling Island to curb the loss is to change table limit $10 to $300. But they still lost a lot of money, so they changed from S17 to H17 about two months ago. Still not doing too well, they took away Late Surrender in the beginning of July.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. I've seen an old asian guy surrender 6 v 5 in Blackjack.Coyote said:6vs 5...wtf
I play in east Pa a lot. Many people use surrender correctly. I am rarely the only one at the table using it and the others that do usually use it intelligently. When you find someone using it wrecklessly the stupidity is seen in all their decisions.Gamblor said:I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. Usually . They only surrender 16 v 9, 10, A and 15 v 10? Sure a lot surrender these decisions, but a lot of those same people will also surrender 15 v 9, 14 v 10, etc., or at least that's what it seems to me.tthree said:I play in east Pa a lot. It is kind of the surrender equivalent to doubling A8 vs. dealer 6 in H17 games.
The most annoying thing for me is when the ploppies notice that my hit card on my surrendered hand is a baby and yak at me, "that was your 5!", or some such.
Time to surrender.Gamblor said:I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. I've seen an old asian guy surrender 6 v 5 in Blackjack.
