I've heard a few reasons
1) Filthy.
2) Hardly any low stakes ($10 min.) seats open.
3) Mostly all 8 deck shoes. (Borgota has a "secret" 6 deck pit I think)
4) They can't kick you out for being an AP however, they can change ANY aspect of the game at ANY time without prior warning to make it unprofitable. Alot of APs probably find that more annoying then being asked to leave.

Although there are some AP's out there that do need to address what to do about bannings, it is very rare that it will be an issue to worry about. You either have to be extremely good where your profits are abnormal as compared to any other player, or extremely bad as where you are so blatant and obvious with your play you leave them no choice but to take some kind of measure against you. A.C. is not a terrible place to play if you find the right games, and have the right skills. It by no means is as good a place to play as say Vegas, but at the same time is better than a lot of the indian casinos. And places in A.C like the Borgata handle big action so well that if you get short shuffled as a red chipper there, you are really bad at this whole AP thing and should consider a different hobby. The whole paranoia about being caught by the casino for counting cards is more urban myth than truth. Of course some casinos will sweat more than others, but it won't happen in A.C., if it does than you deserve it. As far as casino conditions go, there are some decent games if you look, but there are some games not worth playing just like anywhere else. If you do the right thing while you're there its not as bad a place to play as some make it to be.

Yes I agree, AC is playable if you are at the green chip or higher level, if you time things right to beat the crowd, if you specialize at getting into and getting out of shoes when you should, if you have enough work ethic to find the pen where it is, and if you are able to defend yourself against the sleazy, dirty and sometimes dangerous environment. On the plus side, there are a lot of tables to choose from, and being they cannot outright ban AP's there is a lot more work involved for them to get rid of an AP, and I can't imagine them going through those gyrations to send a green chipper down the street. There are a lot of weak dealers and procedures to be exploited. I've done things in AC that would get me backroomed in Vegas. It's a good place for aggressive team play with combination counting and advanced techniques.

I presume you mean the city and not the casinos themselves. Sure, the Strip is Disney-like, but isn't it true most APs play off the strip or downtown? Isn't downtown LV pretty scummy?
BTW, AC is a lot better than it was a few years ago, with a lot of new shopping areas in place of some former scummy areas.

True, but I've never seen it happen and I don't know anyone it's actually happened to. Does anyone? If they reshuffle without warning, they are going to piss off a whole table-full of people

I had a fun time my last time in AC. At one point, the pit lady came running over to my table yelling "shuffle". We were about two decks into the 8-deck shoe. After the next shuffle, we again lasted about two decks before she repeated her performance. In the next shoe the cut card was placed two decks into the shoe.21forme said:

Best/funniest experience I ever had there was at a Multi-Action Blackjack table. The dealer was confusing it with Double Exposure and dealing herself two upcards first! As you might imagine I had black chips all over the layout, and doing my best to keep anyone else from sitting at the table who might tip her off. After about a shoe a PC runs over screaming "Stop! Stop!", corrects her, at which point I slip away, counting my loot. Didn't get good cards but still took them down for over $1K. This is the kind of thing that makes AC worth it for an experienced player.

Thank you for correcting me and as I said before (in the message subject) those are just reasons I've read on BJ forums. My age (15) and lack of counting know how (I'm a nearly perfect BS player) prevent me from playing.
