Would you play with a dealer who is high?

This has happened to me a couple of times recently- dealer is obviously high, not dealing well.

Would you stay at the table and take advantage of the mistakes likely to be made? Or does the slowness and the scrutiny with potential heat that a polluted dealer could easily bring to the table make it not worthwhile?

I naturally assume most dealers are high some just hide it better then others :joker:

Actually I've played in the exact same situation you describe many times. I never questioned it at all. I figure any casino who doesn't notice or care that their dealers are obviously wasted probably aren't going to notice any mispays either. Hell I once played with a dealer who fell asleep at the table for a good 5 minutes. I just sat there and watched in amazement. Nobody noticed at all. I finally slammed my hand on the table hard enough to wake her up and resume her mispaying ways.

I had a dealer like that. he was either dumb or not trained well at all, but he would let me hit as much as I wanted to after I doubled down. really slow though, but the DD ev totally made up for it.

I wouldn't think its even close. Mispays are huge ev compared to speed. Just one mispay on a moderate/big bet makes your nut for the the day.

Had a similar situation, somebody who had a cold and was medicated. I gladly sat there happy as a clam with nary a problem. Also had a dealer who was ticked off at his job, was not paying any attention to the game whatsoever, must have been thinking he was dealing 3CP or something. :grin:

I wouldn't think its even close. Mispays are huge ev compared to speed.

I wasn't talking about just counting. there are other techniques and games where speed could be more beneficial.

Easy answer for me... fawk tryin' to capitalize on a dealer error! The casino or even other players see you do that and you end up looking like a dishonest cheat, not a skillful card counter. (Not you personally... just 'you' like 'one individual') My stance on this subject is pretty straightforward, but it's a good question, nonetheless. Now I cannot honestly say -I- haven't spoken to my girly girl Mary before a sesh :devil:. (not recommended unless your habit requires a hit or two to 'even out' your mind... if it's anything other than weed, mebbe time to make Amy Winehouse cry and check yourself in... you know, the Rehab song :grin
