I cannot fault your logic. Can anyone? zg
I feel like Fox News. You only quoted a small part of what I said, thereby taking it completely out of context. aslan

=aslan;205246]Truth is, if we can't discuss religion, we should not be permitted to discuss science either. Islam is one person's religion, science another's.
This is absolutely false, its not even as close as comparing apples to oranges. Science is not religion regardless of how high the regard for it someone may have. It is not about worship, it is about reasonable deduction and fact finding. There is no thirst for supernatural intervention, just knowledge. Science is not religion, it is not faith based, and it is not a guide on how someone should live their life spiritually. A common misconception from the religious who feel that those on the side of science mock them, is that science advocates worship the findings that science discovers. That is completely false. It is an academic venture, nothing at all like religion. Biology and chemistry are no more my God then any other God of any religion.

Bottom line Froggy - RELIGION is a subject ARBITRARILY FORBIDDEN for discussion at BJINFO. Cape'ce paisan? zg
yes Cape'ce.
really don't wish to discuss religion other than how it might help or hinder advantage play. same goes for morality & ethics.
frankly, what i'm interested in is learning how to fish (rather than being given a fish) all the while not becoming some big fish's dinner.:p

We call that big fish a shark. lol I have heard the other type called a tuna or salmon "feesh." Personally, I like your (or someone's) previous analogy of grass (ploppies), deer (casinos) and carnivores (APs).

Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, religion and morality are part and parcel with gambling, but nonetheless quite difficult to discuss dispassionately by either religious or non-religious persons. I imagine if Stephen Hawking and Pope Benedict were having tea at some Swiss chalet, the conversation might be about soccer, the opera, or the current ski season. Maybe, preferred counting systems, too, but I don't know if either plays or has played blackjack. Would not surprise me though.:whip:

Well then that might qualify for discussion under the loophole of psychic gambling. zg

It's not a loophole. Psychic gambling works. I just haven't learned how to make it work 100% of the time yet. swami aslan

yup, right, right, truly some really AP stuff is represented in such analogies.
advantage stuff from the natural realm that when understood can be carried over into the affairs of mankind, sorta thing.
but the affairs of mankind have a complication with respect to advantage that is not a concern for other life forms, the question of morality.
so what might be the biggest fish, the most dangerous shark if you will, that one may face as an advantage player?
given no consideration of morality, i'd say the man in the mirror.

i'll give you that such difficulty does arise, but i don't think it necessary that such discussions need to spiral into some passionate theological argument.
like ok, just me perhaps but it seems the Wizard of Odds lays out a good framework of proper comportment of advantage players in his Ten Commandments of Gambling:
http://wizardofodds.com/gambling/tencom.html
these sorts of issues such as Creeping Panther incorporates in his signature line, STRENGTH & HONOR, and his often alluding to the concept of RESPECT are imho, not by any stretch of the imagination a small part of advantage play but in fact the very foundation.
what makes this stuff a topic worthy of discussion is for one matter the fine line that separates moral actions from immoral actions with respect to strategies that an advantage player considers putting into action.
these matters are not always so clear it seems. one example that's been discussed is certain scavenger plays, AP's among ploppies sorta thing, where perhaps a poor basic strategy split is pawned off on the ploppy.

My advice: start thee thine own Blackjack site or expand ZZ to include BJ, if thy charter permits! I may join thee, but I do not wish to join an all-religion-and-politics site.
We added PSI Gambling to Zzone to accommodate Brother Aslan, but he still hasn't graced us with any visitations. zg
