I haven't been out to my local casinos yet, but I'm sure it isn't like this. Masks are required, and I live in a very low covid area. Maybe one case of covid a day on average in the entire U.P.

The second photo is Las Vegas reopen ceremony held on the Fremont street experience. It is the first event marking the reopen of LV so it is understandable that it has a big crowd. But you can see the guy leftmost on the third row is one of the four persons wearing a facial mask of hundreds of people there from my count.

People have been spreading the virus with or without a "face covering" everywhere...on the subway, at the protests in every major city, in a Wal-Mart or Home Depot type business, grocery stores. gas stations etc.
But even in Vegas, very few people have died from the virus.

If you just continue cowering and stay at home, then I don't see how you could get infected.

Ha no you don't have to help us read either Don. But you are right, that you were specifically addressing mask wearing.
I will just say that obviously at this point in the pandemic, you and I disagree about the government or anyone else telling us to wear masks. But hey, not everyone agrees with everyone and I think that is a good thing.
The way I see things currently...if you don't want to get the virus, then just continue staying home and you should be pretty safe.
If you want to go to a casino or anywhere else without one and take your chances, then we should be free to do that.

Gloves serve no purpose. The virus isn't transmitted through skin. Touch a virus-laden chip with your glove, then touch your glove to your eyes, nose, or mouth, and it's transmitted just same as not wearing a glove.

To add to that, while gloves over little additional protection, they do give the wearer a sense of additional protection which then makes them less likely to practice the things that do make a big difference, like regularly washing hands, as rigorously as they do without gloves.

If used correctly, gloves serve as an absolute barrier from hand contact contamination. Washing your hands or using antiseptic washes are good but can be less reliable because of technique sensitivity. For example, not washing with soap or a sanitizing agent for long enough to kill the virus or not applying sanitizing agent to the entire area of your hands. You still cannot touch your face while wearing the gloves; they will serve as a reminder not to do that. After leaving the exit of the casino, strip off the first glove with the other one by grabbing the outside of the glove, once that glove is removed slip your clean index finger underneath the contaminated glove to remove it from the inside. Then throw both gloves away.

Whether you decide to use gloves or not is your choice but I would consider it safer. In a grocery store, I feel safer using a glove on a high contact area like the credit card keypad that almost every customer uses.

It would also be safer to wear an N95 mask and a hat to the casino then change all of your clothes when you get home.
