No bank account needed. The banks are always a ripoff with the exchange rate also. Going to a money exchange store will get you about 3% more. A lot of these exchange stores are located right across from the banks. I always go to the ones in Itaewon, about 10 minutes south of the 7luck in Seoul for the better rate.chichow said:

that would be worse than before, but on par for large places like Vegas and others...rather than have consistent rules on all games, have better rules on high min tables.
if your bankroll can afford it, the higher limit tables are going to give you more hands per hour generally since there are less players.

Anyone know if the 7luck comps are any good? I knew a while back the Walker Hill gift certificates that you could redeem your points for were pretty good.
Has anyone here stayed at the 7luck Millennium Hilton. I think its overpriced (min. aprrox $270 US), and probably not worth staying there without it being comped in some way. EDIT: After just reading the reviews on this hotel, including some rooms still having analog tv's from the 80s, it most likely would be a disappointment to stay there, unless it was a free comp.

Didn't have a good session, was up early then gave it back and then some. Lot of tourists were in, I'm starting to think 7Luck gave them Basic Strategy Info Cards with their own version of basic strategy that says to stay on any soft 17, lol. I know it doesn't matter, but I seen 3 separate players do it.
No luck on the upgrade yet, although I did get a new card with a new expiration date. They make the expiration date the same as your passports, so its good for up to 10 years.

7Luck casino Comps
Just wanted to pass some info on the comps.
In approx 40 hours of play, I accumulated 340,000 won/points. At your request they transfer the points to a debit card, (called Shinhan Bank Korea Travel Card) that can be used at millions of stores throughout Korea. This is really a great feature as you are not forced to use it at the more expensive hotels or stores/restaurants of the casino itself. You can use it almost everywhere; at E-marts, department stores, even grocery stores.
I was surprised ay how many Koreans do not use a players card, some have even told me its stupid and bad luck to use a players card, lol. But I quickly realized why (in their case), once the dealers swipe the cards at the table, the dealer has each persons picture on the computer screen assigned to which seat they are playing at. There is no doubt that some Koreans are entering the casino using someone else players card to gain entrance. Then these same Koreans who told me it was stupid and bad luck to use the card then told me that there are some Chinese casino regulars that buy the debit cards from people for 85% of their value, lol. (The Shinhan Bank debit cards don't have any names on them).
So even with the lower level gold card, averaging $8 an hour in comps seems very generous (although I have no clue what it is in the states). And these comps are in addition to the free food you can order within the casino. So even if you break even at the tables, you still had a +EV day.
Is this average per hour in comps the norm for a lower limit hand player?

Ref the players card: after you redeem your points off your card for a debit card, you can then sell the debit card for 94% cash (totally legal and legit) outside the casino at gift card shops.
Been a few years but went to check out my old stomping grounds last month (Aug11) and not much has changed.
The reason why you don't get backed off is that the 7luck chain is run by the the Korean Ministry of Tourism, so they don't really back off any counters. In 2006-7 I spent over 1000 hours in there, and never saw anyone backed off except for rudeness. I became friends with most of the waitresses, hosts and even some dealers. They do not 86 anyone for counting, at least at the level I was playing (spread 10-200).
Another nice bennie is the outstanding free restaurant for players serving traditional Korean and western food, all very good quality.
I made a few thousand $ off the players cards as well which bump up the value.
Koreans are some of the most compulsive and superstitious gamblers (I should know my entire family is Korean). The casino Koreans can go to is called Kangwondo Land, a resort, but I would not recommend it over the choices in Seoul.

The best rates are always found near the US military bases. Itaewon is only 5 minutes away from Seoul Station/7Luck Casino. There's no limit. There's also no id required if exchanging Korean cash (not Korean cheques) at the money exchanges either (the banks and casinos will want your id/passport#).Baka said:

Always use your card at 7luck. I played the other day for almost 5 hours and was credited 52,000 won. They now issue the debit cards right at the cashier cage.Baka said:
I've witnessed some players receiving 10% "cash back" checks (from their previous losses) right at the table from the casino host. I was told that this is totally separate from their players card comps. Supposedly this is for their higher level players, but I will check into this.
