21+3 was crazy popular when I saw it in Missouri (both sides) a few years ago.

This side bet is getting even crazier nowadays.In some joints,max bet is $500

Also,you can bet more on the side bet than original bet,e.g.$10+$100

I do see that often at Foxwoods (can always spot one or two in a trip). The worst, I've seen a lady by me surrendering probably 1 in every 4 hands by getting 14, 15, 16 against dealer's 9, 10, A. But most ploppies will not surrender because they think it will help the dealer and it's quite annoying when they try to educate you about it when you do so.

Up until the past 10 days or so, it's been a long time since I played where you could surrender (in AC many years ago), but although I can't really give an accurate estimation of how many players never would surrender, I distinctly do remember that of the players that would surrender, a large majority of those players would surrender WAY too often.

And here in Vicksburg, MS I am seeing the exact same thing. Players surrendering with 12-14 vs. 8-9-T-A, etc., etc. And I would say less than half of the players would never surrender.

For the record, that option was available only on the 6 deck game, not the 2 deck one.

I'll add that I'm surprised you have had sessions where you were the only person even surrendering. I guess the ploppies figure that's just another option that only benefits the casino...but they'll play those horrendous side bets all night long! :laugh:
