I have been contemplating getting a players card. Or at least playing with someone else’s card. I play green/black. I do not currently play rated however my last back off when I got the tap PB called me by my real name, I felt so deflated.
I've gotten backed off unrated and had pits call me my by real first name (used a players card years ago), friends names (used friends card on different trips) and names that are not me or on any cards I've ever used.
I also once got backed off while playing on a friends card in Vegas and on the way out had security ask me if I was local to which I said no which is true (figured why have them looking out for me) and then asked me my birthday when obviously I knew the birthday of the persons card I'm using. Just thought that was a weird question.
While there are some places I have used a card and don't regret it, for vegas double deck I wish I never used a card anywhere.I'm not a full time blackjack pro but have really gotten back into card counting in the last 2 years and love double deck. I make a few trips a year to Vegas mostly for poker but have about 175 hours in the last 2 years at Vegas DD.On any given trip I may play 15-30 hours of dd bj. I've gotten some free rooms etc, but overall it's just made backoffs happen faster.
