Steering the bust (10) card questions

For card steering/cutting to an ace, Find a dealer that will let you cut any number of cards off the deck. It makes the technique much simpler and very accurate. Few people can cut 53 cards off of a deck but most can cut 2 cards with perfect accuracy. In my opinion spending time finding favourable playing situations is a valuable use of time as opposed to grinding shoe games all day.

I'd agree with that, but you are unlikely to find a dealer who'll let you cut that little. More likely - yet still very uncommon - would be finding a dealer who'll let you cut half or 3/4's of a deck. And that's not just applicable to Ace cutting, the less cards you have to cut the more accurate you can be with any cutting technique.
Incidentally - when using cutting techniques - this is one of the few times that poor penetration benifits you.

I think it was ace-steering, ten-steering, and sequencing. But halcyon's are better.

Well, Sonny you are correct, those are the three techniques mentioned in the book. Halcyon, sorry but I think the odds are way against us as far as your first two guesses, Armed robbery and chip grabbing are concerned. As far as your third guess, I think all would agree that any B.J. we could get is a good one :eyepatch:

I’ve had success with shuffle tracking and sequencing. Two out of three ain’t bad. I’ve practiced some cutting but haven’t tried it in a casino yet.

How do you know the dealer doesn't need a 10!

How do you know that when the dealer is showing a 4 that he doesn't have a 7 underneath and that a 10 would give him 21? Plus there is no way to be able to predict the order of the cards after they have gone through a shuffle machine if they have been throughly shuffled. If you could safely take a 10 on your own hand then I firmly believe you should do it especially if you are showing an 11 you should double down to win double!

You can't say for sure. Not unless you are hole carding as well. But how can you predict taht you are going to get the high cards every time you put the big bets down? You can't, you just know that you'll get them often enough to give you an advantage. Same situation here - steering the 10 to the bust card postition doesn't guarentee that you'll win, but if done correctly it will mean you win far more than you lose.
