Me and 3 friends have all just tured 18 within the last year. We went into a casino for the laugh to experience gambling and we find it fun, however most nights we visit we never seem to ‘beat the house’ and it’s sickening knowing you can’t do anything to take them down and walk out knowing you’ve beaten the casino.
We’re students and don’t have a high bankroll however we have now been practising the Hi-Lo system for blackjack for months. We are now ready to team up, put all our 4 bankrolls equally together and hopefully use our knoledge now to take down the casino. People laugh at us when we walk in with not much money, looking underage and not having an idea what to do. Now we are ready to step up, show them who the high rollers are and shut the casinos managers mouths! They ask me to leave I’ll beat them up in a back room.
Any last advise for what we can do best as a team will be greatful? Thanks
Just remember that the ability to continue to play has a long-term value. Don’t lose it just for the short-term joy of rubbing their noses in it. You guys spread out, get the money, and don’t make a big deal about it. You’ll be thankful for that approach years down the road when you are still extracting the cash.
like the idea of telling your students to quit when ahead . cause the longer u play the more chance u have of deck turning against u especially if not able to count cards, counting cards is very difficult.
When you should quit depends on whether you are playing with an edge or not.
If not, quitting immediately and never playing again is optimal. Of course, you may not find that very entertaining. In that case, quit when you have exhausted your entertainment needs or budget.
If you do have an advantage by card counting or another technique, you should quit when you are tired, or when you are getting more attention than is comfortable.
Notice that your current win or loss has nothing to do with the decision, except in the way it affects the casino personnel’s opinion of you.
I’ve begun the process of card counting (learning to count down a deck & memorizing the I18–the local casinos don’t allow surrender so I haven’t bothered with the fab 4). The BJ games where I live are very limited in number (like ONE per ‘casino’) and, unfortunately, have a HE of .66% (according to a link you provided in another thread, where I could input the house rules). Anyway, I’m memorizing the I18 and bought Schlesinger’s book and when I got to his table on the I18 I noticed that his indices are slightly different than what I’ve been learning. I think they’re based on slightly different rules that what’s available locally. I began to think: what other indices might be different based on the various rules of the game?
My question is: is there a website where I can generate a list of I18 indices tailored to specific house rules at the local casinos?
Hello Ken I absolutely love this site!!! i have always been interested in playing black jack, and when i found out tournament pay out are $25,000 with a $250 buy in from a friend, this go me hooked (it would also be great for paying school tuition). i also love the practice software. any advice for a newbie? also is their a facebook group?
En los últimos dos años no se ha publicado ningún libro nuevo o digno de mención sobre blackjack o torneos. Afortunadamente, la mayor parte de lo que hay disponible sigue siendo tan relevante como siempre.
If they knew you were counting cards then for sure the Asian woman was a plant to put you off. You can’t blame the casino for that. Counting cards is not illegal and neither is anything they did. I’ve no interest in counting cards, as i just play now and again for fun. Counting cards takes high levels of focus, discipline and cool. From your post I’d suggest its not for you.
Any way i can contact you by phone
I have alot of ??s

I don’t know of any free resource that shows custom indexes. If you are interested, my advanced card set includes them:

Thanks, I had the same question. The answer makes a lot of sense. Thank you.
