Imagine it as a investment that is fairly high risk has great returns, but a lot of variance along the way.
According to Wong and others, if you are doing it correctly its better than EXPERTLY TRADING stocks, only you cant grow as big. zg

How does one become a advantage player? By studying or by doing? If you are a successful BJ player, why in the world would you need to borrow $25,000?
If you think you are an AP,please tell me how you reached that conclusion? If it wasn't by actually playing and winning real money in a real casino, then you are blowing smoke. If you've succeeded and turned your puny BR into a much bigger one,but want to borrow more, thats one thing. But looking thru your posts I see nothing that indicates that. You also indicate that you intend to keep your job,if thats the case, why would you need a fulltime payers BR?
All this, because you recieved an unsolicted loan offer in the mail? I get a dozen a week and have filed them as quick as I get them.

Casino Credit BR

If you qualify for $10k credit from 3-5 casinos, and you have 10k cash, you can play as though you have $40k+. Use the same single money-market account to pay off the markers after you leave town. Use the home equity loan as a back-up in case you get clobbered. You may never touch the equity. Its the ultimate - use the casino's BR to play against them with. zg

Ps - Remember its not the size of your BR but how you juggle, err leverage it! Right Sonny?:juggle:

I think both need to be done to become successful. I don't NEED to borrow 25k and i wouldnt suggest it. I just would like to be able to put more money on the table or not worry about my puny br going up and down soo much due to my over betting it. I'm the type of spoiled person when i want something i dont like waiting for it. I go out and do it.

I've reached the conclusion because I can count down a deck in 15 seconds accurately every time. I've learned 30 or so variable indices. I never lose count in the casino even after playing 8-10 hours straight. I've won a lot of money several times, but i've also lost a lot several times. After playing for about 150 hours over the last couple months I'm exactly even money. The odds of this or worse happening are around 20%. Now some of the reasons why i am not up money: Overbetting my BR and not bringing enough pocket cash so i went bust a few times. Ive considered quiting a few times when my BR really tanked but i kept playing and won my money back. I've started with 10k seen it drop as low as 3500, and the highest it has been is 12k. Ive generally had a top bet of 100-300. One particular occasion i really overbet I was topping my bets at 2x500 after being up a couple thousand. I wanted to leave up 5k or lose the 3k that i brought with. guess what happend? 5k went to zero in half a shoe! I got all the 10/3's, -10/7's Dealer got all 20's. Does that mean i was playing incorrectly? In regard to the amount bet yes, but im sure my counting was accurate. Just bad luck. That cost me dearly. I guess ive learned from those mistakes. OH yeah needing a full time players income... I have a great job i own a dental lab. Most money is going into paying that down (purchased it a year ago). My plan is whatever i can make in a year of playing blackjack is going to the purchase of a vehicle. hopefully ferrari 360  But it will probably end up being a used vette. Time will tell i guess.

No, it just got me thinking and i havent read anything on the topic before. There is a lot better ways for me to acquire this money. Im selling a house that will be on the market in a month or so i should have 25-35k in equity in that. It is just that who knows how long that will take to sell. I guess im not patient and i like to gamble too much!

And THAT'S a perfectly good reason for you NOT to take out the loan to play blackjack! But hey, you're going to do it anyway, so good luck!

SCOTT! you should be encouraging this if you still are interested in team play thats why i havent pursued it much yet. Im waiting for sufficient BR. 20% of your profits per session would be pretty sweet don tyou think? No risk to your own assests. Guess we will just have to wait till the house sells if you are still interested!

I don't understand what you mean here.

But you're right, I guess I should be encouraging this! If I were to play on a team with you, you taking out the 25k loan would be beneficial to me. But I don't turn 21 until the end of August, so I would be limited in my options as far as playing until then.

Is gambling legal for 18+ year olds all through MN, or is that just for Indian casinos? If most of the casinos are 18+, then perhaps we could arrange something during the summer.

I just didn't think you were still interested in forming a team. I am still interested in forming a team since I have a fairly small bankroll right now. I guess we can just keep in touch and see if anything develops.

Some of these places rip you off, and they are overpriced.
Example: (Dead link: http://www.theidshop.com/fake_id.html)

Its easy to make your own with the right software - just DON'T MAKE COUNTERFIT! A good novelty ID works fine and its NOT COUNTERFIT.

A good novelty ID might say "Motor Serrvices Vehicle" instead of "Motor Vehicle Services" or say "Department of Service Vehicles". The colors for the given state can be different and the fine print on the back can say "Holder has the right to spread from 1 unit to 2hands of 50 units with obstruction, etc.

BUT, they still could get you in trouble but they are not illegal, technically. zg

They are not illegal, but I would be using it for an illegal purpose. So really for me, using it to get into a casino would be illegal. I turn 21 in a few months, so I think I'll just wait it out. When I turn 21 I will have to visit Vegas sometime to meet the one and only Zengrifter!

Well, I've done 2 out of the 3.

I actually dont think using a fake ID would be a big deal in a casino. The only time the ever look at it is when you first come in. Once you get by the security they dont care anymore. And even if they would catch you, they would just turn you away. But I highly doubt they would catch a decent fake ID.

2 out of 3...That number 3 must be driving fast. Every one knows that no one who was stoned ever got pulled over for speeding! Maybe a ticket for obstructing traffic!
